MOON ELVES: Their Customs and Their Magic is all about moon elves and by the term Moon Elves, we mean elves for whom a relationship with the Moon is an important, but not necessarily exclusive, part of their lifestyle and magic. We Silver Elves, for instance, say we are the elves of moonlight, starlight and the radiance of the forest. Therefore, we could easily call ours’elves Moon Elves, but we could also say we are Star Elves or Starlight Elves, or Forest or Wood Elves, and all that would be true. So it is that when we say Moon Elves, we are not necessarily distinguishing them utterly from other sorts of elves (although some surely are exclusively Moon Elves). We elfae folk are generally a very eclectic bunch.

In Part One of Moon Elves you will find a description of some of the various methods Moon Elves use in their magic. This is not to say that all Moon Elves engage in each particular practice we cover in this book or that we include every practice they may have but that these are the most common practices and magics that the majority of the Moon Elfin engage in. Taken together they might be referred to as Elven Moon Magics. We also illuminate what might be referred to as Moon Elf lifestyle and culture, although it is true to say that all elves and fae folk in going about our lives do magic in everything we do. Thus, as our sisters of the Elf Queen’s Daughters in the 1970s used to say, “We elves don’t do magic so much as we are magic and therefore all that we do is magic.” Our lifestyle is also our magic and our magic our lifestyle and this is true of Moon Elves and every other sort of elfin folk. This stems primarily from the fact that while we elves may practice a variety of different magic styles and techniques (from ceremonial magick to sorcery, from pyromancy to necromancy), we are first and foremost, in nearly all cases, enchanters as the ancient lore suggests and as modern elves and our lives bear out. We do not seek to force our will upon the world but rather to enchant individuals so they will willingly and eagerly do what we desire in order to please us because they feel so empowered and inspired by us and our magical elvish beings.

Some of the topics in this book on moon elven culture and magic include: Elven Moon Bathing, Moon Water, Moon Gazing, the Elfin Moon Garden and Moon Garden Herbs, Elven Moon Weddings, Elfin Moon Dancing, Moon Elven Totems and Familiars, Moon Gods and Goddesses, the Day Moon, Light Side and Dark Side of the Moon, Elven Moon Crystals, The Moon in the Tarot, and more (scroll down to see the table of contents).

Also, we will cover in Part Two of Moon Elves the various energies of the different cycles as they progress through the Moon Months and the energies best utilized or evoked at that time. In that way, this book is a sort of Farmer’s Almanac, although really a Moon Elf Magic Almanac. We Silver Elves have ever been of the opinion that an Elven Calendar would be like the Chinese Lunar Calendar and that the Elven Zodiac would have thirteen months based on that calendar instead of the twelve sign zodiac of Western lore that doesn’t fit exactly with the 12 months of the Western Calendar anyway. Aries, for instance in the Western zodiac, is from about March 21st to April 19th and this divergence from the months of the year is true of all of the signs of the Zodiac with each sign overlapping two months. But in our Elven Moon Zodiac, the moon months and the signs would be the same. Covered in this book are the names and meanings that moon elves have for the Elven Moon Zodiac, and these are globally significant rather than seasonally specific to a particular hemisphere.

Part Three of Moon Elves contains some examples of moon elf tribes and a narrative description of each to give you an idea of the varieties of moon tribes that are among us in modern times — including their lifestyle, healing abilities, ancient ways, art and magic, and relationship to nature and to mankind. If you are a Moon Elf, then we hope you enjoy reading about related tribes or perhaps one of them is your very own.

In REFLECTIONS ON THE FAERIE AND ELFIN FOLK, we Silver Elves continue with a volume 7 of our question and answer series addressing the numerous questions about elves and faeries and about living the Elven Way. In this book we address with an elven perspective some questions that have been posed to us throughout our 45+ years of following the elven spiritual path and sharing with the world that we are elves in soulful spirit that have incarnated in human bodies (also see The Magical Realms of Elfin, volume 1; Manifesting Elfin, volume 2; The New Dawn of Elfin, volume 3; Visions of Elfin, volume 4; Elfin Rising, volume 5; and Illuminating Faerie, volume 6).

Reflections on the Faerie and Elfin Folk explores further questions about who the elves are, faerie lore and faerie folk, elfin magic, otherkin and their ever diversifying kintypes, elven culture and lifestyle, and a host of miscellaneous topics about elves and other fae. Some of the specific questions answered in Reflections on the Faerie and Elfin Folk are (there are over 100 altogether in the book): What is unique about being an elf and the Elfin community? Why do we elves seem like contradictory beings, old and young at the same time, sad and filled with delight? How do you know your elfae memories/beliefs are truly yours and you aren’t subconsciously pulling things from pop culture or other sources of media? What are Tolkien elves vs. other elves? Do Elves always have long hair? Do we elves recognize each other when we first meet, even if we’re total strangers? Who are the true elves? Does rh negative blood signify the elven bloodline? How tall are elves? Are we elves associated with Atlanteans and Lemurians? Do you need to be in Nature to be attuned to your elvish soul and spirit? Are we fae, like men, descended from apes? Is faerie lore fading from the world? Are fae agreements always tricky? What is Fete, Fate, Fee, Fée Fae? Can Faerie Mounds pop up anywhere? Do we elfae kidnap midwives from mankind? Do faeries come from children who died unbaptized? Are eccentrics and odd people, changelings? Are tales of fae based upon the displaced Picts, Britons and Celtic tribes? What is the association of we fae with whirlwinds? If one drinks a faerie drink, will one turn into a faerie? Does bread and salt ward off Faeries? Will turning your pockets inside out keep the faeries away? Can we fae turn leaves into gold? Is Faerie a Perilous Realm? Do we elves need to do magic? Does magic underlie the nature of reality? When is the best time to do magic? Is it okay for those, other than Silver Elves, to use our elven magical language Arvyndase? Do elf witches have a relationship to Hecate? Are there eight signs in the Elven Zodiac? Can your elven soul be stolen? Are Demonkin a valid kintype? What is our reaction to Fictionkin? What are our thoughts on Machine kin? What do we think of Plant-kin? Are the faeries all now gone due to the encroachment of cities? Were the Celts faerie folk? Is there a connection between the words Ferry and Fairy? Are the ethereal and  astral realms different? What is the elven lifestyle in the modern world? What is the best way to dress to express one’s elven identity? What do we think of cultural appropriation? Is the Elven calendar based upon the solstices, equinoxes and mid points? Do elves raise our boy and girl children the same? Does a person who spends a long time with ‘the faeries’ become a faerie? What do we Silver Elves  think of the Unseelie Code? Did elves invent makeup? Why don’t we publish our The Silver Elves books through a major occult publisher?

Most often, a person has questions as one tries: to decide if one is ones’elf an elf or is some otherkin; to understand what it means to be an elf and how one might know of one’s elfin nature; to understand one’s experience of having an Elven Awakening; to determine how elven magic is alike or different from that performed by other spiritual groups; and to learn about how elves live and relate to mankind and otherkin. In the first six volumes of this question and answer book series, we covered numerous questions on the above topics, including a section about which of our Silver Elves’ books to read on various interests about the Elven Way, our magic and about being elfin. So, if you are curious about modern elves, particularly about The Silver Elves (as we do not speak for all elves as elves are quite a varied and independent folk), then you will surely find many of your questions answered in Reflections on the Faerie and Elfin Folk. If you do not see all the questions that you have about the elves addressed in this volume 7, be sure and check the first six books in this series, as your questions may well be included in those books.

From an Elven Perspective: Could One have been an Elemental in a Past Life?

March 9, 2022
Zardoa_refaire
“Were we once elementals? Surely, we were. We may well have been also fertilized eggs, that grew into a frog-like shape floating in a sort of aquatic environment of amniotic fluid and so on. We have developed as spirits and continue to do so. Growing more aware, more conscious, more intelligent, more experienced (Universal Street Smarts) and more magical as elfae beings. And as we live our lives consciously and intentionally as the elfae we truly are, we increase this magic and it’s power manifesting Elfin and Faerie upon the Earth and among the Stars as we were ever meant to do. And in doing so, evolve even more and more quickly. So, beloved, be your true elfae s’elf and help others to do the same, for we are on a great quest and adventure that extends through the lifetimes and throughout the Universe.”

Zardoaquote15

If you read the esoteric teachings and theories of Blavatsky in The Secret Doctrine, vols. 1 & 2 (which is essentially formed from her interpretation of esoteric Buddhist lore), then the theory is that all beings that are currently incarnate and those that have evolved beyond physical manifestation for the most part into the realms of the Shining Ones, have progressed through every level of physical manifestation. Rather like that game that parents sometimes (or used before mobile video games) play with their young children on long road trips, called Animal, Vegetable and Mineral. This is to say that we, as spirit, in order to gain mastery over the physical plane, which is also to say master our ability to shape matter and incarnate within it in a conscious fashion, have and continue to go through the series of incarnations into various forms. Usually seen in a progressive fashion as first mineral, then vegetative, then animal developing into humanoid form and beyond that ethereal being with increasing consciousness and awareness. This is all theory, of course, but it is a theory that is not only rooted in the esoteric lore of Asian peoples but also very much reflected in the beliefs of Western peoples, and particularly to be found in faerie legend and lore.

Faerie folk are often accorded by lore to be nature spirits or associated with elementals of various sorts. Gnomes are said to be earth spirits or earth elementals. Undines (which are a type of water faerie like mermaids, naiads and nixies) are water elementals. Sylphs (which are a sort of faerie) are air elementals, although some people call them zephyrs. And salamanders (not sure how they got in there) are fire spirits although some magicians associate them with djinn (see Helping Yourself with White Witchcraft by Al. G. Manning). Having salamanders among these faerie spirits is rather like having various types of apples associated with the other elementals and then having an orange linked to fire.

For our own part, we Silver Elves don’t associate the elementals with earth, water, air and fire but rather with states of being, thus solid, liquid, gaseous and plasma (see our book The Elements of Elven Magic: A New View of Calling the Elementals Based Upon the Periodic Table of Elements), but that fits perfectly with our view that we are primarily spirits manifesting in humanoid bodies and are only temporarily physical beings evolving toward eventually becoming beings that manifest in bodies of light in a world of our creation that is very much like lucid dreaming. It is still an illusion (as Buddhist would define it) like the material world, but an illusion more of our own creation.

elements_book
The Elements of Elven Magic:
A New View of Calling the Elementals Based Upon the Periodic Table of Elements

The idea that we elfae were or could still be more elemental in our being and that we may evolve through various levels of manifestation can also be seen in the legends of the Cait Sith or cat fae and the cù-sìth, singular, and coin-sìth, plural, who are faerie dogs. You will also note the various púca (pooka, phouka) that are shapeshifting fae and become dogs, cats, rabbits (see the 1950’s film Harvey with Jimmy Stewart) or whatever but seem to have a particular fondness, according to the lore, for being horses (see Faery in Shadow by C. J. Cherryh). Although, here we may also find Groot’s friend, the quite clever racoon being Rocket of comic book and movie fame.

As far as vegetative life, there are a number of trees that have been strongly associated with faerie folk and numerous herbs and plants as well, but there are also the wood nymphs, dryads and other tree and plant spirits that are faerie creatures that are associated with vegetable life. In modern times in science fiction and fantasy, we have Groot and Tolkien’s Ents as conscious tree spirits.

In terms of the mineral world, it is dwarves due to their caves that we find so powerfully associated with the rock, stone, crystal and gem world, but also trolls, who are sometimes said to turn into stone if exposed to light and mountain giants who are essentially rock people, which is to say mobile rocks. And in the superhero world we have The Thing, called Ben Grimm in his human form of the Fantastic Four.

For our own part, we Silver Elves have always seen all of life as being, each in their own way, conscious. Rocks may not have the same consciousness as we have obtained, but have their own sort of consciousness that will grow and evolve in time, just as ours did. All of life surely is imbued with the Divine Magic, in potential, and all of life is moving toward its perfected, which is to say, most magical state of being. We are not born ‘as is’ as some religious doctrines proclaim, live our lives then die and go to heaven or hell forever, but continually are evolving, learning and growing spirits.

Were we once elementals? So, beloved, be your true elfae s’elf and help others to do the same, for we are on a great quest and adventure that extends through the lifetimes and throughout the Universe.

. . . . And we also invite you to read about one of our newest published book. . . THE FAERIE SONG ORACLE: The Elven Way of Singing Down Magic of the Fae is so named because it is an original elfin oracle system based upon the solfège or solfeggio system, also called solfa, solfeo, which is used as a music education method in the West to teach aural skills, pitch and the sight-reading of the music scale. That scale is Do, Re, Me, Fa, Sol or So, La and Te, with another Do representing a higher octave, at the end. We have presented these notes in this oracle according to the way they would be spelled in Arvyndase, which is the Silver Elves magical elfin language. And, therefore, these musical sounds/notes would be spelled: DO, RAE, ME, FA, SOL, LA, and TE, which as you can see only differs in one instance. The pronunciation, however, is the same. The Faerie Song Oracle book is meant to be used as an oracle, but it is also a book of magic. Thus, the sounds can be sung together to create a particular magic that either heightens the power of a boon or dispels unwanted influences. The Silver Elves associate these notes with each of the points of the seven-pointed acute angled Elven Star that many people call the Faerie Star. For each oracle reading, you will be drawing two notes. So you might consider that in drawing the faerie song oracle you are dealing with the power of two of the points of the elven star combined (each point signified by a different note) or one of the points in its pure form (if both of the notes that you draw are the same, as say when you get Rae-Rae as a response). The second Rae can be sung on a higher octave evoking a raising or increase of that power. THE FAERIE SONG ORACLE is found here for purchase on Amazon USA

What An Elf Would Do, Too: Book Two of a Magical Guide to the Manners and Etiquette of the Faerie Folk

What An Elf Would Do, Too:
Book Two of a Magical Guide to the
Manners and Etiquette of the Faerie Folk

This book is found here for purchase on Amazon USA
and here for purchase on Amazon UK

. . . a book to help elfae feel more at ease in the normal world!

We Silver Elves are happy to announce our newest book publication! WHAT AN ELF WOULD DO, TOO: Book Two of a Magical Guide to the Manners and Etiquette of the Faerie Folk is our second in a series of elfin manners books, the first one being What an Elf Would Do: A Magical Guide to the Manners and Etiquette of the Faerie Folk. You do not need to read the first volume before reading this one, although you would surely enjoy doing so as it is a wry, sly, often tongue in cheek view of how elves see and interact with the world of the Normal folk as well as with Otherkind of all sorts. This second volume continues to give and expand suggestions for elven etiquette in many of the same life situations as discussed in the first book, but this volume two also includes some modern social situations that were not really as prevalent at the time we published the first book. For instance, What An Elf Would Do, Too, includes an entire chapter on elven social skills in interacting successfully in social media. Also, in the last five years, mainly due to social media, the elven and otherkin communities have greatly expanded and have begun to awaken more and understand their unique and diverse kin types. This book two in the series further explores many situations that elven and faerie folk may find as they encounter a variety of elves and fae folk. This book includes chapters titled: Seven Basic Laws (Guidelines) of Elven Hospitality, Etiquette and Manners; Elven Social Skills in Social Media; Moving About in the Normal World; In Personal Life; Interacting with other Elves, Fae and Otherkin; More on Elven Social Manners; Dealing with Traditions and Taboos of the Fae; and Etiquette in Elven Magic.

What An Elf Would Do, Too begins with a discussion of each of the Seven Basic Laws (Guidelines) of Elven Hospitality, Etiquette and Manners. This gives the elfae (a word we Silver Elves coined that combines elf and fae and so includes elves and all other folk of the Faerie realm) an etiquette philosophy to follow that can be applied to about any situation in life that we encounter. ” . . . while we call them laws, really, they are more like guidelines. The only real laws in our realms of Faerie and Elfin are the laws of Nature, the Universe and the laws that rule our individual hearts and souls. Calling them laws merely puts emphasis on the significance of these principles by which we may find some reference for the particular situations and circumstances that we may encounter in relation to others and how we may choose to interact with them. However, it is always up to the individual elfae to decide how much or how little energy they wish to invest in any situation or relationship and how they may wish to interact at a particular time.”

Most of the discussions in this book come from people in our elfae community asking us questions about what they could do as they have encountered certain situations. Some of these questions of which there are 84 all total that we cover in this book are:
What does an elf do if they are on social media and still feel lonely for their kindred?
How do you deal with elfae groups in social media as an administrator?
What does an elf do if they get put in ‘Facebook Jail’?
How do you deal with people who make fun of you when you are out in the world dressed as and expressing your elfae or otherkin s’elf?
What do we do if someone gives us the Evil Eye?
How do we deal with people who seek to attach themselves to us but come on way too strong?
Do elves ever ghost anyone?
What does an elf do when they feel depressed but don’t know whether they should express it or not?
What does an elf do if they have a job that they hate?
What do we do with people who refuse to eat our food because it is Faerie food?
How do we deal with the fact that individuals who we’ve nurtured and been kind to, then thanklessly desert us and go on their way?
What does an elf do if they meet someone who knows they are an elf but derives their sense of s’elf totally from Tolkien’s writings?
How does a dark elf deal with those who act like he or she is an Unseelie fae?
How do we elves deal with faeries who accuse us of thinking elves are better than faeries?
How do we interact with fae with different political beliefs from our own?
How does one address elven royalty?
How do we deal with individuals who say they are High Fae and think they are superior to others?
Is it considered poor manners to tell someone what their kin type is?
What is our policy concerning those who seek to impose their self-assumed authority over us?
How do you rear a child to be elfin or faerie and respectfully deal with others in the world?
How do we deal with people who criticize our child rearing?
How do we deal with people who think we elfae steal children?
How do we deal with people who have gender-based customs?
How do we deal with those who seek to enforce their customs in our realms?
Is it rude (or dangerous) to step into a Faerie Ring?
Is it ok to do divination, energy work, spells, etc. on people without their permission?

What An Elf Would Do, Too is designed to help the elfin everywhere to move through the often mysterious cultures of mankind with confidence and ease and to enjoy interacting in the Fae and Otherkin communities as well. You will find as you read along in this book that often we share what we Silver Elves have done in similar situations as being discussed, all to give at least our own experiences as examples of ways to deal with the world in what we have found to be both effective in our own life and as courteous as possible. And if you have experiences that lead you to understand other approaches that work for you, please do find us on Facebook or email us and share with us your experiences with elven etiquette and manners.

Does Being Elven or Otherkin Make it Harder to Live in Human Bodies?

June 3, 2021

Silver Flame of The Silver Elves

“Often for elves and faeries, we just miss our elf ears and our wings. Our differences with human incarnation are generally cultural rather than physical. . . . normal culture overall just seems peculiar, non-sensical and unnecessarily competitive and aggressive to us. We feel like aliens in their culture and, truly, we are. . . But for those who are born into humanoid bodies but are a dragon in their spirits, or some other non-humanoid form, the difficulties can be greater. There is a continuing sense of body dysmorphia and their human body always seems odd to them.”

tiny_green_7star

Does the fact that we are elfae (a word we Silver Elves use to mean elves and other magical beings of the Faerie Realm) and otherkin spirits incarnated into humanoid bodies make it harder for us, than say, for men and women? Well, yes and no, as is so often the case with we elfin folk. Naturally, having to incarnate into material bodies is just harder overall for nearly everyone. If we, as spirits, were living fully in our body of light, it would surely be easier for us as spirits. The material world is slow and ponderous and, by its nature, somewhat difficult due to its propensity to create friction between objects. Which is not even to mention how some folks just go around making things more difficult for nearly everyone when it could all be so much easier. But even without their determined folly, this is still a somewhat difficult world to live in at times.

However, living in this material world does have its advantages. Perhaps, the most significant is that it allows us the opportunity to develop our other bodies: our astral bodies, our mental bodies, our bodies of light and pure energy and what we might call our psychological bodies, as well, as a mode of developing consciousness. Once we have fully built, you might say, all these bodies, we will be able to live in a material world that isn’t quite so material anymore, for them our consciousness will more fully appreciate the energetic world that underlies material form and we shall live, in a sense, as though we are existing in a lucid dream.

Of course, this sense of disassociation from one’s body can vary from elf to elf, or from elf to faerie, or more particularly from elves to those who are dragons, werewolves, puccas, or some other sort of fae whose natural body isn’t humanoid in the first place. We elves are generally represented as being humanoid beings, so beyond the normal difficulties having to do with material existence, we do pretty well. We often miss our elf ears, and frequently feel rather estranged from the cultures we are raised within but otherwise we’re okay with human bodies. At least, those of us who are normally in humanoid bodies anyway. Since from an elvish point of view a tree could be an elf, or a bird might be an elf, or a hound might be an elf, or dragonflies, butterflies, moths and so forth are nearly all faeries, then it is possible that an elf or faerie could be born into a human body when they are used to living in a bird body and so on. That would make it more difficult.

Often for elves and faeries, we just miss our elf ears and our wings. Our differences with human incarnation are generally cultural rather than physical. Sometimes the language we are raised using just seems strange to us. It is different than our ancient language and perhaps even different than the language we spoke in our last incarnation. And normal culture overall just seems peculiar, non-sensical and unnecessarily competitive and aggressive to us. We feel like aliens in their culture and, truly, we are.

However, for those who are born into humanoid bodies but are a dragon in their spirits, or some other non-humanoid form, the difficulties can be greater. There is a continuing sense of body dysmorphia and their human body always seems odd to them. It can make them feel like they are going mad and if they tell anyone, other than adept elfae about it, they will think so, too. For these otherkin folk, getting used to the humanoid form can be much more difficult. And stress can have ill effects upon that body, their inner discontent sometimes displaying itself as disease or just a pervading sense of unhappiness and feelings of being out of place.

One of the key aspects of elfae character is an ability to adapt to changing circumstances. This is not to say we are always happy about what is going on nor that we never experience stress, but rather that we ever seek to turn every situation to our advantage as best and as soon as we can. We do try to look for the bright side of every situation and use our magic to enhance its powers and effects upon us and our surroundings. But then again, we don’t usually face the sort of dilemma that say fauns and dragons face in feeling not only out of place in the world but not even in the right body.

Still, the solution for all of us who are traversing the material realms is to do the best with what we have been given so we may master our various bodies that exist and interact with the different planes, levels and dimensions of energetic being until we obtain true adeptship and may manifest in any body we so choose. We would say, we can’t wait but, alas, we have no choice but to do so. Our only real choice is to increase our powers and abilities and this will give us the power to be who we truly are, which is ever the true goal and path of the Elven Way, anyway.

How Do We Know We Are Elven or Otherkin? And Why Do Elfae and Otherkin Not Always Know our Kin Type when Newly Awakened to Being Other?

February 16, 2021

Zardoa and Silver Flame The Silver Elves
“. . . in exploring one’s narrative, one’s personal story, it is important to reflect somatically, which is to say, with one’s feelings, on this inner sense of otherness. We do that without naming it at first, just feeling into it and allowing one’s intuition to be filled with its wonder. And because one’s personal magical narrative is not merely a matter of one’s history and experience in this lifetime, but includes all our previous incarnations, deep feeling and sensory experience is the best and most direct way to link ours’elves to the progress of our life through time.”

tiny_green_7star

The awareness of being elven, faerie or otherkin is nearly always an intuitive and instinctual recognition of one’s inner being. This awareness or awakening comes from the inside out. Often we relate to what we read or see in books, videos, films and television and they arouse our imagination and connect us to something deep within our being. At the same time, we often use these stories from fantasy, myth, legend and lore to explain what we feel about ours’elves to the world. However, while these presentations and descriptions of ours’elves that we glean from the outer world remind us of ours’elves, there is ever an inner narrative that comes first, from our soulful spirits, from our subconscious and instinctual being that has waited there like a seed or daemon to receive the moisture and light of those characterizations to stimulate them into growth. And this is seldom something we can verbally express at first and, like the seed beneath the soil, it arises from our feelings and subconscious being more than our logic that would be the light of day.

This feeling awareness is something that comes prior to the outer narrative that we build concerning and describing ours’elves and that we use to express ours’elves to the world. This awareness or, we might say, this story (or faerie tale, if you will) of our elven spirit stems from an inner knowing of who we are as elfae beings and that arises from a place within us that does not use words so much as feeling and it’s first expression outwardly is in symbols and images. This explains why so many elfae and otherkin that are newly awakened do not know their tribe name or exactly what words to use to describe their kin type, they just feel they are Other.

First of all, we just know we are different. Most elfae folk have felt apart from those around us, felt different, even alienated from the normal world that to us makes no sense, or very little, at least. The need of the normal folk to compete over everything and to continually undermine each other, constantly serves to push us away from them and toward a more loving and supportive environment. We ever seek our own. And quite often it is in encountering our own, which is to say, crossing the path of awakened elfae, that our inner being first pushes its’elf above the surface of our unconscious awareness.

And this difference between ours’elves and those around us, the divergence between how we feel, what we really know within, how we feel the world should be and how it actually is due to the behavior of the normal folk, makes it so we often know internally long before we are aware mentally that we are elves or otherkin. Which is to say, we know we are different, but we haven’t as yet given a name or description to that difference.

Thus, in exploring one’s narrative, one’s personal story, it is important to reflect somatically, which is to say, with one’s feelings, on this inner sense of otherness. We do that without naming it at first, just feeling into it and allowing one’s intuition to be filled with its wonder. And because one’s personal magical narrative is not merely a matter of one’s history and experience in this lifetime, but includes all our previous incarnations, deep feeling and sensory experience is the best and most direct way to link ours’elves to the progress of our life through time.

This inner sense and feeling will also speak to us through our dreams (both our night dreams and also our day dreams), although again it tends to speak in images and symbols rather than in the language of logic. Also, when we are in Nature, we will surely come to understand more about and connect to our inner source and narrative of who we truly are. Again, this won’t necessarily happen in words so much as in feeling. And what words there are may seem like a puzzle or a riddle that one must decipher, just as one most often needs to examine the elements of one’s dreams to understand them.

It is later that we find the words that relate to and make understandable in language our life upon the Earthly plane in order to express this inner knowledge of s’elf. Those who look upon us from the outside, even most academic researchers in religion, sociology and other disciplines, most often neglect this understanding of our being. They, naturally, see us from their own point of view, often their preconceived notions. And they nearly always fail to understand who we are truly and really how we came to understand our being.

These narrative studies can be very informative but they seldom make a distinction between the inner narrative from which our outer narrative springs. They see our beings as they are expressed by and in relation to the world around us, which is to say when we use movies and books to explain ourselves, but they often fail to comprehend the inner spirit that reaches out and makes that link in the first place.

In a certain sense, our inner and outer narratives are similar to having an elf name (or normal name) that we use in the world and an elf name that is our spiritual signature and which is our occult or secret name. While we Silver Elves have elf names we use in the world (and also normal names when necessary), we also have elfin spirit names that were gifted to us by our sisters of the Elf Queen’s Daughters (see our books The Elf Magic Mail, vols. 1  & also vol. 2), of which we were and are still a part and only the inner sisterhood knows those names. But that, beloved, is another and deeper narrative.

So search within, dear Kindred, and find and enjoy your deep feelings of being who you are naturally for as long as you will. Come back to this feeling often, without words, for that state of deep somatic contemplation is when you are in touch with your true soulful elfae spirit and this is from whence your magical narrative for the external world will spring.

Many Elven Blessings, dear Kindred!

Elfae Tribes: The Peoples of Faerie

November 30, 2020

ElfaeTribescover

Elfae Tribes: The Peoples of Faerie
by The Silver Elves

This book is found here for purchase on Amazon USA
and here on Amazon UK.

ELFAE TRIBES: The Peoples of Faerie by The Silver Elves is our fourth book  in the series of elf, faerie, fae and otherkin tribes. Our first book is composed strictly of Elf tribes; the second book in the series describes Faerie, Fae and Otherkin tribes; the third book is comprised of Elves, Faerie, Fae, Otherkin, Otherworldly, and miscellaneous assorted fae tribes. Elfae Tribes includes a total of 115 tribes of elves, faerie, fae and otherkin, all of which are newly published and are not found in the first three volumes in this series.

In these modern times we now abide, it is most important that the elves, faerie, fae and otherkin have a strong magical narrative of their own in a world that often likes to tell us who we are and who we are not, and mostly quite inaccurately so. It is our hope that in reading the magical narratives contained in Elfae Tribes that you will be inspired, our kindred brothers and sisters, to begin if you have not already done so to create your own narrative or add to what you already remember and intuit.

You will find as you read through the many narratives in this book that the many tribes of the elfin, faerie, fae, and otherkin are quite varied in their history, spiritual practices, spell crafting, magic, healing abilities and powers, lifestyle, art, ancient ways, governance, love of nature, relationship to mankind, relationship to specific trees and other plants, preferences, symbols and skills.

Included in the first part of Elfae Tribes are 41 tribes of elfin folk in the deep forests among the oaks, birch, and oak trees; and some in forests and woodlands along rivers or lakes or near the ocean. Also, in this section there are narratives of forest traveling elves, of elves living on the forest edge, and elves living high in the forested mountains. There are also included some elven tribes in mountain valleys and within mountain caves, as well as some coastal elves and river elves. And included in the second part of the book are 24 tribes of faerie, fae and mixtures of elfae who abide in the desert lands; are travelers or troopers; are of the rivers or live in woodlands near the rivers; are of the deep forests; of the forest lakes; and of the forests near the oceans. Some other tribes are island forest folk; are those traveling through the forests; are of the high mountain areas or mountain valleys; are of the lakes or live near waterfalls or springs; and some are of the ocean caves. And in the third part of the book are tribes of Valkayrie, Leprechauns, Were-wolves, Dragons, Pixies, Phookas, Shapeshifters, Djinn, Fauns, Dwarves, Sprites, Landvaettir or Earth Spirit Fae, Shining Ones, Gnomes and Brownies, Nymphs and Nyms, the Slaugh Folk, Goblins, Will O Wisps, Boggart Folk, Centaurs, Kitsune Changelings, Phoenix Folk, Sylphs, Silkies, and Banshees or Ban Sidhe.

We Silver Elves, over the last 30 years or so, have given out over 6,000 elf names in our magical elven language Arvyndase to individuals who requested them. And for years, many of the individuals who requested an elf name would also write to us and say that they felt that they were faerie, fae or other but didn’t know any more about their particular tribe. And for years, we told them that they should trust their imaginations and intuitions. And while that is still very good advice we realized in time that this was not any easy thing to do for many of these kindred of ours who were often newly awakened and needed a bit of guidance upon the path.

In response to this, we created the Elf, Faerie, and Otherkin Survey (see our The Silver Elves website to participate), as a means of eliciting the information that we needed from these individuals so we might create a narrative for each of them about their own tribe or clan of Elves, Fae or Others that was germane to them and as close as we could get based upon their responses and our own intuition.

The magical narratives we created and that compose this book are based upon the memories or intuitions and thus the responses that we were given to the survey (since April 2020) about those of elfin, faerie, fae, otherkin and otherworldly nature. We would like to thank all those who participated in this survey and we truly loved their creative responses. Of course, we used our own imagination and intuition in putting their replies into a consistent whole, which was often a challenge but a challenge we very much enjoyed.

Sample Narratives from Elfae Tribes:
Here for you to enjoy reading are a few examples from the 115 kin type narratives found in Elves, Faeries, Fae and Otherkin Tribes.

Excerpts from Section One: Elf Tribes

The Ålånyn (pronounced: ah – lahn – nin) band of the Meynmi (me – in – my) tribe are elven folk that can usually be located living near the forest edge, often by a running stream or babbling brook (they love waterfalls, even small ones) and like to be close to a town or city where they can go to barter, trade or get supplies that aren’t available in their forest, as well as to spread their magic and share their creativity among modern folk.

Socially, the Meynmi peoples don’t seem to have much in the way of government nor do they have any authorities. They have a basic principle of treating all their people with mutual respect and consider all beings to be inherently equals. They live together in peace, often in small groups, pursuing their own creative interests and their chief magics seem to be through the evocation of Grammarye or writing and creating music. Therefore, we might call them Bardic Elves. And this emphasis on music particularly results in them calling thems’elves bands rather than clans. Like many artistic folk, they are often alone or in their small bands intent upon their individual or group creations and come together as a people mostly to perform or share their works.

While they don’t have a governmental organization, the Meynmi do have an escutcheon that has the figure of the Earth upon a light blue background with a dark blue dragon flying above it. The whole thing is outlined in silver and there is a very faint suggestion of what looks like the yin yang symbol overlaid upon the Earth.

These elves often have small gardens where they grow cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussels sprouts, collard greens, Savoy cabbage, and gai lan, kohirabi and other vegetables, which not only provides much of their diet but which they are able to sell or trade at local farmer’s markets to support thems’elves.

They are also known to be dedicated meditators, practitioners of yoga in its various forms and overall lead an exemplary and healthy lifestyle dedicated toward their own and others enlightenment and evolutionary development. For these elfae do not believe in gods, per se, but rather see the Divine Magic as a potential that lives within each and every being and can be realized through personal efforts to make ours’elves better so we may eventually evolve into the realms of the Shining Ones, who are those elfin folk that came before us and have succeeded in rising to the more elevated and subtle dimensions of Life. In living their lives as they do, they are following the example of the Shining Ones, those exulted elfin beings.

So, it is that these elves seek to aid Mankind and all folk as best they are able, encouraging them toward better lives, leading by example and empowering all those who put effort toward improving their selves and their lives.

According to the Meynmi peoples, they originally came to the Earth as spirits from the Pleiades system and they feel a particular association with Alcyone, known scientifically as Eta Tauri or Eta Tau, which is one of the seven sisters of the Pleiades. It is the brightest star in that system and they feel it guides them throughout their lives providing them with magic and energy. This is their lucky star. Their individual elven star.

While the Meynmi peoples don’t have treasures overall as a people, their individual members do create personal amulets, talismans and other objects of magic that they wear or carry around with them or keep in their homes and gardens radiating love and light into the world.

Also, their communities are usually filled with music wafting through the air from their own playing, practice and creative efforts. But there are also chimes here and there on the outside of their homes and aeolian harps positioned in many of the trees that surround them. As the Meynmi say, The Music Never Stops.

The Udyrdyn (pronounced: you – der – den) tribe of the Alanåter (a – lay – nah – tier) nation are sea elves who are closely related to the merfolk of sea and land, which is to say of springs, ponds, lakes and so forth. The Alanåter live on floating islands that they construct that are, like an iceberg, larger beneath the surface than above. There principle devotion is as healers and they use the waters of the ocean in their healing work but they also utilize it in their divinations and vision questing and other magics, to calm or rouse the sea and so forth. Their healing involves their community, of course, but also they seek to heal the oceans and waterways of the world as well. Alas, with the devotion of Mankind toward polluting everything, these sea elf healers certainly have their work cut out for them.

They avoid Mankind for the most part and in keeping with this they call forth their water witchery to create cloud banks around them that look a good deal like a potential sea storm or hurricane that the ships of Mankind wisely tend to avoid or from which they flee as quickly as they can. However, most of the time, like a hurricane, the center of the storm is quite calm as the Alanåter sea elves go about their business undisturbed by the storm or intrusion by Mankind and those Unseelie folk who often pass among mankind.

Theirs is a society run on consensus and they come together to discuss all things related to their people overall. Those who may disagree are always able to sail forth in another direction for there is a fleet of small ships that swarm around their floating villages. But since healing is the main avocation of most of their people, they seldom disagree about anything. As the Alanåter say, Life at sea is too pleasant to disagree.

As we said, they are quite close to the merfolk and if you could see their world you would likely view mermaids lounging on their decks, and selkies and sea sprites and all manner of ocean folk that they enjoy being with hanging around with them. These folk often provide them with various items from the bottom of the sea while the dolphins and porpoises serve as scouts for them, bringing them news from the vast realms of the oceans around the world.

While the Alanåter peoples believe in gods, as a general principle, and they are surely a polytheistic folk, they do not tend to anthropomorphize these deities. Rather, they view the ocean as a god and all the various rivers and streams, lakes and ponds as being deities of various levels and degrees of power. They consider the sun as being divine, as is the moon and the planets and they see them as all spirit beings in their own right who just happen to not be humanoid in form. The Alanåter’s relationship to these beings, while respectful of their great powers, is really more practical than worshipful. They know the seas have moods, for instance, and they are very watchful and sensitive to these.

The Alanåter elves have magical treasures but most of these are so powerful that they are kept in a sort of lending library where one has to earn their library card and can check out certain powerful magical items for a delegated period of time. The higher one’s clearance, so to speak, which is to say depending upon the extent of one’s power, one’s maturity and competence with magic, the more powerful the items that one can check out. The librarians are called the Treasure Keepers or sometimes the Keepers of the Sacred Treasures if one wished to be more formal about it, but most of these elfae simply call them The Keepers.

These sea elves do sometimes get tattoos but these tattoos, like most of their culture, revolves around their healing arts. Sometimes their tattoos are used to heal particular diseases and many are obtained as a means of warding off various illnesses. In that way, their tattoos are the same for them that vaccines would be for the mass of humanity. But there are also tattoos that indicate one’s level of development and power as a healer and one’s specialty, unless one is a general practitioner and even that has its own tattoo.

Excerpts from Section Two: Faeries and Fae Tribes

The Elilylae (pronounced e – lie – lil [as in lily] – lay) faeries of the Ynmynori (N – men – nor – rye) are traveling folk who journey from one region to another, but generally avoid any large cities and only enter them if absolutely necessary. Sometimes, they may settle for a while in a forest or even desert area, but they seldom stay more than a season or two, the call to wander is strong among them. Or, as we might say in modern times, the wanderlust is strong among them. Go with the lust!

They recognize the great Faerie Queen, often called Titania, as their monarch, but she doesn’t actually rule over them. They merely call her their queen, but really these faeries are quite s’elf ruled and determine the direct of their lives their own s’elves. And they are, even among thems’elves, a very independent lot.

The Ynmynori do have a flag, however, which is rather like the Japanese flag, except instead of a red sun on a white background it is a red sun or ball if you will, upon a black field. There are also a number of clans among the Ynmynori, the Elilylae being only one of them and is often known as the wolf clan. There is also a crow/raven clan and a bee clan. The bee folk carry bee hives wherever they journey and when they meet the other tribes they trade their honey for other goods. The Elilylae or wolf clan are often scouts, venturing out in different directions in smaller packs and then returning to join together and share what they have discovered. While the crows and raven clan are collectors of various objects, which they then trade to the others. The wolf clan, for their part, trade in the knowledge they have gained in their explorations. They are often map makers and leave secret faerie symbols (like the Hobos of old and the Romany) that tell others of their kind whether a place is inclined to be kindly or not or point in the right direction to travel to find this, that or the other thing.

It is said that the Ynmynori originally traveled to the Earth from Aldebaran, which is in the constellation of Taurus, and is a large red fiery ball, and thus some say that their flag represents Aldebaran in the night sky. The name Aldebaran comes from Arabic and means the Follower because it appears to follow the Pleiades cluster around, and it was considered one of the four royal stars by the ancient Persians. The Ynmynori, however, call Aldebaran the Wanderer rather than the Follower and believe it wanders after the great Faerie Queen as she travels on her own peregrinations or Faerie Rade.

The Ynmynori often wear talismans of crescent moons or pentacles, since they are a very witchy folk and honor all the witch goddesses, especially Hecate, who was said to be the goddess of boundaries, crossroads, witchcraft, and ghosts, or we might say, the ancestors. For they feel that those who have passed over to the other side, into the Twilight, as they say, still abide with them and travel with them and they often experience encounters with specters and other ghostly spirits that guide them in their lives and their journeys.

In regard to Mankind and the normal folk, the Ynmynori are very kindly and will do what they can to help and enlighten them when and where possible. Still, they tend to keep to thems’elves mostly and will only interact with the normal folk if they are approached for help and advice and will only continue to help them if those who approach them actually seem to heed their counsel, which, let’s face it, is seldom.

The Ynmynori are also very fond of crystals and minerals of all sorts, and you may find lots of crystals in their various wagons and vehicles, that they use, like Romany, in their travels. It should be noted that their wagons and so forth are often covered in moss, lichens, ivy and sometimes ferns growing in boxes along their sides. Due to this, when they park in a forest they are nearly invisible.

The Fiforae (pronounced: fie – for – ray) clan of the Ranånåli (ray – nah – nah – lie) tribe are lake dwelling faeries, often referred to as the Ladies of the Lake or People of the Lake who spend much of their time in isolation from Mankind and the normal folk around them, and sometimes, because of a tendency toward introversion, a preference to be alone even among their own people. Their lakes and ponds are often surrounded by Hawthorn trees, long known to be sacred to the fae folk, and wild roses as well. Many folk hang ribbons and wishes written on pieces of paper and other gifts for the Fair Folk upon Hawthorn trees, although other trees as used as well. Trees so bedecked are often referred to as Faerie trees.

The symbol of the Ranånåli faeries is a silver circle. One may see this sometimes on their banners that display a simple silver circle in the midst of a white background. But they also often wear silver bracelets, silver torcs and silver arm bands, and jewelry that features a silver circle upon it. Their Queen is known to wear a silver circlet as a crown with rose colored tourmaline as its head piece. She is sometimes described as the Mistress of Ceremonies. Tourmaline is said to have great healing power as well as the ability to soothe the hearts and souls of those who come in contact with it and their Queen is said to have a very soothing presence and all who meet her feel better for doing so.

The Ranånåli sometimes call thems’elves the Servants of Arianrhod from Welsh mythology and honor her and her brother Gwydion. The name Arianrhod is said to mean Silver Wheel and thus the silver circle that they are fond up is, at least in part, linked to their devotion to Arianrhod.

The Ranånåli are said to have in their keeping and care the Bowl of Arianrhod and the Sword of Gwydion, which was named Dyrnwyn. These are, of course, both enchanted objects of great power. While the sword of Gwydion clearly has the power to take life, particularly from those who weave dark sorceries, the bowl of Arianrhod is rumored to contain water that gives life and brings the dead back into the material world, while Arianrhod hers’elf determines their fate in their coming life according to their karma from their previous life and deeds. Therefore, the Ranånåli are sometimes called Those Who Stand Between Life and Death and they are noted for helping those who are in transition between lives (see our book Beyond Death: The Elfin Book of the Dead, Ascending towards the Faerie Realms through Progressive Incarnations). But some of them are also famous for taking care of the young and newly born and guiding them toward positive habits in their early lives.

In regard to Mankind, the Ranånåli are of a mixed disposition. They don’t like being around Men. Men are so serious about themselves and boring after all. And yet, at the same time, the Ranånåli will send healing energy to certain men or women whom they feel are worthy of their energy. They see this as the only true way to heal Mankind and the world and to guide Mankind back to a path of harmony with Nature both within himself and without, which will bring true healing to the world.

Besides being healers and quite ardent devotees of the accumulation of knowledge, for learning is very important to these folk, the Ranånåli are naturally, as one might suspect with their preference for living near or on lakes, ponds and other large bodies of water, water witches. They use the latent powers of water and its channeling powers to heighten their own faerie powers, as well as broadcast their own spells afar linking them to the connections that water has in a particular area and throughout the globe.

One of the most beloved tales told by these faerie folk is of a faerie who gave up her wings in order to save her home and her people. Thus, many of the Ranånåli have also relinquished their wings in order to live in the modern world and carry on their race into the future. They know that their wings still exist in their energetic and light bodies and they also are certain that their wings are now carried as sub-dominant traits in their genetic bodies and someday, when Men are less prejudiced and more enlightened, they will sprout their wings again and flit about the skies like Tinkerbell, who is, by the way, beloved to them and especially to their children, just as Peter Pan, and in modern times Link from the Zelda games, is beloved to most elven folk and our young.

Excerpts from Section Three: Otherkin [and Otherworldly] Tribes

The Ofori (pronounced: oh – for – rye) clan of the Froåtåer (fro – ah – tah – ear) tribe are Landvaettir or Earth spirit elfae who live in the deep temperate forests usually often in apple groves that they plant for their own delight and consumption and which they share, through trade and barter, with other elfae about them. It is said that their apples are particular delicious and magical.

The Froåtåer used to love to play and interact with the ancient Celtic and Viking folk and, in modern times, still do as much as they can. However, although they are Earth spirits, the Froåtåer are frequently pale in complexion, instead of russet or earth colored, and seem like ghosts flitting through the forest to those who don’t know them and happen to accidentally spy them from a distance.

These elfae have a democratic society, with elected officials who oversee the administration of everything that needs to be decided concerning their people overall. However, they have been together and functioning as a unit for so long that there really isn’t that much to decide. On the other hand, all their decisions include an understanding of what is best for them and for Nature overall. For harmony with Nature is very important to these elfae, as it is to most modern otherkin folk and thus they are often at odds with the rather predatory behavior that is common in the modern consumer societies that seek to use Nature and seem to have little understanding of the necessity for sustainability for a truly successful culture and future.

The flag of the Froåtåer has a purple background with a wolf baying at the full moon in the center and a fiery axe on either side of it. Around the border of the flag are elven runes formed in a Celtic knot pattern that looks like ivy growing. The runes say, Every Fox With Cunning Yields Until His Moment Comes.

Spiritually, due to their long association with the Celts and the Viking folk, the Froåtåer interact with the gods and goddess of those cultures, often bringing messages from those deities to the Celtic and Viking folk of olden times. Sometimes, the Froåtåer cast the runes or scry upon the waters, or sometimes they would read the leaves as they fall, or the wind as it stirs the tree branches to arrive at an oracle to guide those folk. The Celtic and Viking, for their own part, would look upon the Froåtåer, as their descendants often still do, as mysterious folk who are interesting to know but somewhat hard to understand yet wise in their knowledge of Nature and the gods. When we say that the Celts and Vikings found the Froåtåer hard to understand we are not indicating what they say, of course, but what they actually mean when they say it. But then oracles are often delivered in riddles.

These landvaettir have always sought to help mankind and the normal folk, overall, as best they may. Although Men, let’s face it, are not always open to help and guidance. Some of them seem to think that they already know everything worth knowing, but then compared to the Froåtåer and the elfae in general, who are ancient spirits, men are rather like children or teenagers. So, a certain resistance to enlightenment, however well meant when offered, is to be expected. As the Froåtåer say, “You can’t expect an ass to run as fast as a horse.”

While the Froåtåer consider most of the ancient magical treasures of the Tuathe de Danaan as being their own, their most important treasure is really the Golden Torc (torq or torque) of Family, which represents their people overall and their emphasis on the importance of family for a torc is made of banded strands, twisted together with an opening at one end that symbolizes that the family is united, strong but also open and free.

It is said that as long as the Froåtåer have this Torc, which their chosen leader wears on formal occasions, their people will remain strong and united and whatever land that they abide in shall be blessed and prosper due to their presence.

The Notrådyn (pronounced: no – trah – den) clan of the Lilalor (lie – lay – lore) tribe are gnomish folk who generally can be found living within the forest near its borders, usually around a lake or large pond and most often not far from a local town or city. Note, however, when we call them gnomes we use this term in the old sense of wise elvish folk and not in the more modern depiction of slightly overweight but pleasant beings with conical hats that you find on people’s lawns from time to time. In fact, Tolkien first called the people that he would later say are elves as gnomes in his book The Fall of Gondolin. Thus, while we call these folks gnomes, one could also call them elves and still be accurate and true in doing so. Also, these folks commonly have tattoos or piercings, which is not something you’re likely to see in most modern depictions of gnomish folk.

The Queen of the Lilalor is seen as the Mother of her people, for she nurtures and encourages each and every one of them. They are an independent lot though and inclined to be loners at times, either holed up in their homes working on their various projects or wandering off into the world on their own to have a peek, as they say. And, of course, groups of them sometimes venture into the nearby towns to observe the ways of Men or sometimes to barter or buy what they may need or desire. They find Mankind strange, yet somehow fascinating, although also potentially dangerous, so the Lilalor seldom reveal their true natures as elfin beings and pass through the world unseen and unobserved.

These gnomes do have a flag that displays three silver elven stars arranged in the form of an upward pointing triangle upon a green background. This represents the Lilalor peoples overall. While the Notrådyn clan has its own banner with a reddish orange oak leaf in its center upon a brown background with black fringe along the border.

Their spiritual beliefs seemed to be based upon a love of Nature overall. They see Nature as an expression of the Divine Magic that exists in all things and which animates the Universe. They don’t really have any gods that they interact with or care about. Some of them believe in their existence and some don’t but most of them just don’t care one way or another. They feel that if there were gods they wouldn’t have to appeal to them, the gods would come looking for them if they were interested and thus far they haven’t bothered to do so.

These elfae folk often wear brown attire (like the brownies, to whom they are also related) though frequently with black headwear or hoodies. Because of this some people have jokingly referred to them as the racoon people but the Lilalor don’t mind for they know the racoons to be very smart individuals who wash their hands, have opposable thumbs and can move through the world unseen, just like the Lilalor, when they choose to do so. In fact, the Lilalor look upon racoons as their elfin cousins and you will commonly find racoons living with the Lilalor as familiars. The Lilalor say they are even better as magical companions than the cats, snakes or dogs that so many others favor.

The most common magics for the Lilalor are shamanism and spell crafting. And it is quite interesting to us to consider the fact that their racoons have learned the various mudras and hand positions that the Lilalor use in casting their spells and seem to cast spells along with them. As the Lilalor say, We are One with Nature and Nature is One with Us.

The magical treasures of the Lilalor are in the form of personal magical items that have been passed down in their families for generations as heirlooms or sometimes passed from a shaman or spell caster to hir (his/her) protege. In their use and in their gifting to others, these items accumulate more and more power and due to the fact of reincarnation, it is quite possible that an item one passed on to another in one lifetime will return to one in another, with even greater charge, power and potency. Thus, the Lilalor are ever increasing the power of the magical tools they utilize.

How do You Discover What Sort of Elf or Otherkin Type You Are? And Do You Need to Know your Kin Type to be an Otherkin?

August 1, 2020

Zardoa_blogotherkin

“. . . .  the realms of Faerie and Elfin are touched by the realms of the Unknown constantly whispering to us to change, evolve and creating even greater things than we had yet imagined.”

We often encounter individuals in our Facebook groups who feel attracted to the Elfae and Otherkin communities and the denizens thereof but don’t really know what sort of otherkin they might be. They wish to fit in and be accepted but they don’t know quite where they might fit in, especially when they encounter others who are posting about their personal kin type and its various features and they, for their own part, don’t know what to say about thems’elves.

Yet, of course, of all the communities where the need to fit in is virtually unimportant, it is surely the elfae world where uniqueness and individuality are valued and fostered. One can remain amorphous, lurking from the shadows forever as far as we are concerned, as long as one does so in a harmonious fashion. For courtesy is also very important to us, especially for we elfae folk, and there are surely those who in following the ways that are common among other groups, where pointless arguing and character assassination is rife, find thems’elves on the other side of the mists that surround and protect our people, confused and scratching their heads about how they suddenly wound up there.

However, there is really no need to hurry about discovering one’s kin type or defining our magical selves. You certainly don’t have to have a kin type in order to be accepted in our groups and, honestly, you don’t have to be elfae or otherkin to be our (the Silver Elves) friends. You just have to be sincerely friendly, which to us means you are an elf friend and that is otherkin enough for us to proceed upon.

So, it is not at all necessary to delineate one’s otherkin type, if one isn’t at the point when one is ready to do so. There are times in our lives when it is important to simply expand and explore the consciousness of spirit without naming it while there are other times when we become ready to define and act upon the consciousness of our spiritual identity. It is best if that happens naturally. It doesn’t need to be forced and it is vital that when it does happen that it is an expression of our inner being and of a true sense of ours’elves.

So, how do we discover our kintype when the time comes to do so? First, we trust ours’elves. We particularly trust our understanding of ours’elves and we especially need to trust our attractions. This is to say, we tend to be attracted to things that have some relationship to us. We are naturally inclined to be attracted to our own kin and kind.

So, the question then becomes, what do we really wish to be? Not just what sort of otherkin or elfae do we relate to in our feelings, although that is very important as well, but what do we wish to be? Beneath the all of Life is Spirit. Spirit creates and manifest the Universe and the world, which is to say our own s’elves. So, what is it that you wish to be? Don’t deny yours’elf. Understand your aspirations, for they will form your being and we are all becoming through time, interaction and experience.

What makes this whole situation slightly trickier is that we are a community of shapeshifters and hybrids. We are often not one thing but a mixture of different types, or we have the ability to shift from one to another. We Silver Elves, for instance, call ours’elves elves for convenience, but we also know that we are related to pixies, brownies, sidhe and fae and others as well. There is no conflict in our hearts and minds about this fact. And we might manifest as any of these at any time and change again later.

But, in the long run, it comes down to this once again, and that is what is it you wish to be? Those of you who are uncertain of your kintype. This is Elfin. You are not determined by forces outside of yours’elf forcing you to be this or that, but moved by forces within yours’elf, your own inner nature that will eventually compel you to be exactly who you truly are, which is also, as it turns out, who you really wish to be. How great is that?

Do you need to Know your Kin Type to be an Otherkin?

Well, clearly you don’t. All sorts of people feel that they are otherkin but don’t have a clear idea of what sort of otherkin they might be. Most often, in our experience, this is not due to the fact that they have no idea at all, but rather that they feel drawn to so many different types of otherkin that they don’t know which one they really are. And many times, they don’t really wish to have to choose.

And we Silver Elves don’t see why they would have to do so. We are elves, yes. But we are also pixie folk and brownie folk and descended from the Sidhe and while we usually call ours’elves elves, we also consider ours’elves fully pixie and brownie and so forth as well. We have even been adopted by a group of hobbits, given hobbit names and are considered hobbits, as well. There is no conflict in our elvish minds concerning this. When we are with them, we are hobbits, but we are also elves.

Most elfin, faerie otherkin types are hybrids, anyway. And surely in some cases they become a unique and individual type just in the way that the manticore has the head of a human, the body of a lion and a tail of venomous spines, like a scorpion, while some even have wings. So, a hybrid of otherkin types may produce a whole new type but then, not always.

We’ve known people who are descended from the Irish, from the Philippine people, from an African tribe and other varieties and, often, they were born in America or some other country and that in a sense makes them American also. Are they Irish? Yes. Are they Filipino? Yes. African? Yes, that too, and American. There is no valid reason to make them choose between these ancestries. They are each and all of them at the same time, a combination of wondrous love.

Of course, some folks might just feel more comfortable saying I’m a dragon, or a Unicorn, or an Elf or a Faerie but that is usually only those that are still struggling with the fact that they are otherkin at all and uncertain whether they may have to retreat into the world of the normal folk and hide among them again. Those who are more comfortable in the Otherworld, or perhaps we should call it, the World of the Other, are also used to the fact that things are constantly shifting and changing there. In a world where so many folks are shapeshifters, you get used to people shifting their forms, identities and even their gender regularly.

These sort of shifts are rather frightening to the normal folk who can even get violent and murderous towards those who have shifting identities but for the elfae folk this is just the way things are and really, it is also the way we like things to be. It gives constant variety to our worlds. And whatever you might say about the Elfin and Faerie realms, they are not boring as the normal world so often tends to be. They are ever surprising and ever revealing new and interesting things. For ours is a creative world and new creations pop up from time to time amazing and delighting us.

And as to finding in your kin type, there’s no hurry really. If you are uncertain of what kin you might be, don’t worry about it. Choose whatever you feel most like at the moment, and if you happen to find another type you feel more like in the future, well, that’s great. You can change, you can add on, we are all hybrids, really and that just makes it all the more wondrous as far as we are concerned.

Or simply be an amorphous shadow, lurking in the dark with no real form at all. Nothing requires a person to be a specific type of otherkin. You can be one of those people who just doesn’t like to be labeled. Although, labels are somewhat convenient, just for expressing things about ours’elves, but not necessary really. For the realms of Faerie and Elfin are touched by the realms of the Unknown constantly whispering to us to change, evolve and creating even greater things than we had yet imagined.

6throughmistswebThrough The Mists of Faerie:
A Magical Guide to the Wisdom Teachings of the Ancient Elven

“Elfin, Faerie, Elfland or the Sacred Realm or Dimension of Magic that lives at the heart of the Universe, is an incredibly attractive power. It draws all true souls to it. It calls to the Elfin nature in each and every soul. This is the power that arouses the imagination of those who see or read the Lord of the Rings and say, I’m an Elf or I’m a Dwarf, or even I’m an Orc. The power calls to us through Urban Fantasy stories and the fantasy novels of old, as well as, faery tales and movies of magic and enchantment. But it also calls to us from the trees, the wild places of Nature, and sometimes most of all from magic memories of our childhood, which is really our ancient past, our past incarnations, calling to us. It can also be aroused, and quite strongly, perhaps most strongly, by others of our kind manifesting in the world. There is something magical about these beings and they arouse our own hunger for magic in our own lives and souls. These Elfae radiate starlight. They glimmer with love, kindness and compassion; and they reach out and touch our souls. Some might suppose this to be a glamor, a magic they have wrapped thems’elves within to enchant us; but while they are truly enchanting, the magic arises from the fact that they are genuine and real. They don’t need to glamor us. They just need to be their very own s’elves, for that is the most impressive magic of all. They are not trying, they are simply being: being thems’elves, being elves.”
—Excerpt from page 26 of Through The Mists of Faerie by The Silver Elves.

“The Elves believe that Fear is a dog that barks in the night to warn you of impending danger because it loves you. Embrace your fear. Feed it courage.”

From An Elven Point of View, Is Harley Quinn Fae? Is Batman Fae? Are X-Men Fae?

August 1, 2020

Blessings205

“. . . we see the faerie nature in many folk and we see the magic of Faerie pushing up through the cracks in the sideways and climbing the sides of the buildings and lurking in the corners of the world all around us.”

Is Harley Quinn Fae?

When you look at the world from an elven point of view, you begin to see elves, faeries, fae and all manner of otherkin all around one. Often, they don’t realize this otherness about thems’elves, but we see the faerie nature in many folk and we see the magic of Faerie pushing up through the cracks in the sideways and climbing the sides of the buildings and lurking in the corners of the world all around us. It takes the Faerie Sight to do this, or Elven Far Vision, or perhaps in this case Elven Near Vision.

This understanding of individuals and their fae nature includes seeing fictional characters of many sorts as fae. Comic book and graphic novel characters are especially prone to having fae characteristics. Often, this is due to some superpowers that they have, since magic and otherworldly powers link one to Elfin and Faerie, whether one is fae in nature or not. Our world is infectious you might say, but in a positive way, like having an infectious laugh or smile. We elfae are like moss or lichen, or even more like wild flowers and weeds, we grow everywhere we can in every niche available to us and we cast our seeds everywhere, far and wide, near and close, here and there.

Take the character of Haley Quinn from the Batman series. She doesn’t really seem to have any superpowers, neither does Batman when it comes to that, unless you consider understanding the human psyche as being a superpower. For Harley Quinn (Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel) is a psychiatrist and it is in that capacity that she first meets, treats and falls in love with The Joker. And, certainly, there is some merit to the notion that understanding the human or other psyche might be a superpower.

There is surely a long-standing magical tradition that proports that knowing a person’s true name gives one power over that individual. Among other things, many spiritual, magical and religious groups through time have gone by different names in order to keep their actual names secret. Or sometimes they get magical names, which they see as their true names that they keep secret from the mundane and uninitiated. We Sisters of the Elf Queen’s Daughters have secret names in the manner of this tradition.

In the simplest terms, this can be seen in movies, where criminals take on pseudonyms during a heist in order to protect their actual identity, for if the police knew their true names…. The same can be seen, in a sense, when Superman disguises hims’elf in the world as Clark Kent. How they never recognize his face is another question. What, facial recognition software doesn’t work on Superman?

In this same regard, if you really understand an individual to the depth of their being (their true name), then you have the ability to manipulate or influence them for good or ill. And that really is a great super power, and actually quite a rare one. There are many psychiatrists and psychologists in the world, yet most of them are ineffectual in their work because they don’t actually understand the individuals who are their patients. They are just carrying out rote routines that they have learned in empathy training and other practices. Those rare individuals who do understand others affect real changes in those individuals, while the rest are just going through the motions repeating formulas that have no power because there is no understanding behind them and thus no real connection to the individuals who come to them for therapy.

Haley Quinn, on the other hand, falls in love with the Joker, who is clearly mad and she, through the process of counter-transference gets drawn into his lunacy and, what is to us, his Unseelie world. This, however, originates because while she may understand the Joker somewhat, she truly fails to understand hers’elf. He is an abusive individual but like many females, she convinces hers’elf that if she just loves him enough, he’ll transform. But he does not, he cannot, because she has given up her power to be with him. And while love is a great power, unfortunately it is not a panacea for all ills, although it can help, but seldom quickly.

Harley in joining the Joker becomes fey hers’elf. Fey is a word that is generally defined as giving an impression of vague unworldliness or having supernatural powers of clairvoyance, which she does not, or that one is fated to die or at the point of death, thus living on the edge at all times and slightly mad for doing so. The moon-touched or loony are often seen as being connected to the world of the fae and the supernatural. And the moon witch has both light and dark powers and moods.

In time, Harley breaks with the Joker, finds a relationship with Poison Ivy, another fae character, and Catwoman (Shapeshifter? Furry?) and the three together are sometimes called the Gotham City Sirens. Is she then a Siren, singing the unwitting to their deaths and laughing maniacally all the time?

Whatever the case, it is clear that while she may have started her life as a woman as though she was of the normal world, her fae nature emerged and she joined the Unseelie folk who seek revenge upon Mankind for all their ill deeds toward the world, Nature and the fae, as well as just for the sheer pleasure of seeing those arrogant asses get what’s coming to them. Who among the fae doesn’t appreciate poetic justice? And yet, just as she became fey and fae and Unseelie, she could transform again, changing from a Supervillain to a Super Heroine, protecting the innocent against the oppressors, but first she will have to come to understand her own true name and nature.

Is Batman Fae?

On the surface, it would seem that Batman is, indeed, a man, as his name implies, and is not a fae of any sort. He doesn’t have super powers or magic of any kind, unless you accept being rich as a superpower, as his character said in one of the movies. As a sub-question then, we might ask: is wealth a superpower?

Well, having wealth certainly provides one with many powers. It is not an absolute power and surely it has its drawbacks, just as great beauty (another power) does, but surely it is a power. After all, when we hear stories of magic and genies, what is it that people who come upon a magic lamp or who have obtained some sort of magic, or even if they made a deal with a demon, most frequently ask for? It is great wealth.

Of course, not all those who have this power are superheroes. In fact, if we are to believe many of the rumors about those who are wealthy, or just read the newspapers about them or watch television, one might conclude that many of those who have the power of wealth are supervillains, or simply rather ordinary villains as the case may be. Greedy individuals who commit crimes large and small to obtain and keep their wealth. Batman being a superhero is a bit of an exception. This is not to say that all wealthy people are villains, just that wealth has its temptations like every other power. It allows one to do things that others without wealth cannot do in the world, but it doesn’t necessarily give one spiritual maturity and enlightenment, which are different powers altogether and ones that sometimes have prompted sages through the ages to eschew the acquisition of wealth.

And, let’s face it, while many of the wealthy have inherited their riches somewhere at some time, either the individual with wealth now or some ancestor obtained that wealth through effort. And again, if we are to believe the tales, they well could have done so using some very questionable and possibly quite villainous and illegal methods.

Also, while we might say, therefore, that Batman has a superpower, in his case an inherited one, of great wealth, his power is not a supernatural power and thus not exactly a fae or elfae power. His abilities don’t speak of the otherworldly so much as the best, most inventive and intelligent aspects of the mundane world. His powers, while financed by great wealth, are based upon science and technology, which are the superpowers of Mankind.

This is not to say that we elves aren’t scientifically oriented, for truly we are, but our powers tend to be more of the ethereal and otherworldly for the most part than merely powers of this world. And while we accept and revere science, we do not exclude the possibility of supernatural magic and powers, as Men often do. Rather, we embrace those powers, although we tend to think that they arise mostly from the power of the will and maturity of the developed individual. We should remember, however, that the third and much quoted law pronounced by Arthur C. Clarke is that, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” Magic is not contrary to science, but a deeper understanding of Nature. It is supernatural but not unnatural.

None-the-less, when we examine Batman, he seems to be more Man than Fae. And yet, what about his Bat persona. At the very least, as he transforms himself into a Bat-Man, we could say that he is a sort of technological shaman, shapeshifting into a bat. At the same time, we might also think that Batman really is a Furry. After all, bats are furry creatures, except for their wings and in taking on the bat persona, Batman is actually revealing his Furry nature.

Of course, that doesn’t necessarily make him fae, exactly, but it does tend to indicate that he is Otherkin, and Otherkin surely can be fae, while others of the diverse kind are just a step away from fae, sort of a cross between men and fae creatures, but able if they so desire, to live and abide in Faerie.

While Batman chooses mostly to live in the mundane world combating criminals who are both super and quite ordinary villains, his life in Wayne Manor and especially his life in the Bat Cave, are somewhat otherworldly. Wayne Manor is a step away from the normal world of the mundane, the poor and the middle classes, and the Bat Cave another step even further away and much closer to Faerie. So, while Batman is probably not a fae being, he is a rather advanced man and, in that sense, surely a cousin to we who are elfae.

Are the X-Men Fae?

We’d have to say that for the most part they are. Not only that but many of them seem to be quite elven. They have superpowers, of course, which is what makes them X-Men or mutant human beings, but quite a few of them enhance their powers with science and technology, which is a very elvish approach to the world. We are an eclectic group and we use whatever works, taking our natural abilities and otherworldly sense and increasing and enhancing them in every way we can.

The X-Men are not all elves, surely. They are a myriad of fae kind, with shapeshifters and various others among them with a variety of abilities and powers. Certainly, Wolverine isn’t an elf, more of an otherkin furry, but Charles Xavier and Magneto are rather elfin beings in our opinion, even though they don’t have pointed ears, but then most elves in the modern world don’t have pointed ears, as much as we’d like to do so.

What is most interesting to us, however, is that the divide between those two characters and among the X-Men overall is quite in keeping with the difference between the Unseelie Elfae and the Seelie Elfae. Magneto and his group are angry at normal humanity and the world of Men because of the persecution that they have suffered at their hands but also because of Man’s incredible folly in the way they treat the world and the natural environment. They are greedy, arrogant, selfish and will not listen to those who are wiser and have the vision to see where their folly will lead them. Compared to most of us, they are rather like belligerent teenagers.

Most elfae folk, even those of us who tend to be Seelie Elfae, find this anger with Mankind and their avaricious, callous and cruel natures, perfectly understandable. If we thought it would help, we’d be angry at them, too, and seek revenge upon them. But from a Seelie point of view that just contributes to the madness that they infuse into the world so instead we seek to do our best (and it is not easy because they are so incalcitrant) to enlighten them and show them the way.

Of course, the mere fact that Magento and his cohorts wish to punish Mankind for their actions, does not, in itself, make them Unseelie. It does make them somewhat like Men, for Men are very into punishment for every infraction no matter how petty their rules, laws and regulations, but that would only make those elfae a form of dark fae and not necessarily Unseelie. What makes them Unseelie, and this is a curious thing, is their presumption of the fact that they are more powerful, having superpowers, and can subjugate Men. Thus this means to the Magento that they should conquer Men and either eliminate them entirely or control them. However, this is exactly how Men treat other men, although they usually call those other men sub-human due to their race, religion, nationality or some other difference that they have. Even more than that, Men subjugate their own women, their own wives and daughters. The Unseelie’s drive to control Men is little different than Men’s drive to control all that are around them, even each other and their own tendency to be controlled and be submissive to powerful and dominating leaders.

And what makes this even harder is that this control must continue forever. Often in places where an outer force, such as communism controls a diverse population for decades, such as happened in the former Yugoslavia, this harmonizing of society only holds as long as the control lasts and when it fails, the various groups set about warring with each other and enacting a series of ethnic cleansing pogroms. The solution they offer is genocide, although this seldom works either. Even Man’s ancient attempt at the genocide of the elfae peoples only forced us to go underground, in reality and legend, and metaphorically as well (see our book Through the Mists of Faerie).

This point of view that the Unseelie X-Men hold toward normal humanity can be seen in Nicholas De Vere’s book The Dragon Legacy where he puts forward the claim that elves are genetically superior to normal folk and should lead and control them. Of course, unfortunately like so many of this sort, he means only pure bred elven and not all those lesser elven, those half-bloods or part-bloods or mud bloods, that fill the world. Where have we heard this racist doctrine before? Oh, yeah, the Nazis, Fascists in general, the Ku Klux Klan and others of that ilk.

At the same time, we Seelie elfae must admit that we have been less than totally successful in influencing Men toward the good. We’ve had some success, certainly, but not as much as needed to move Men utterly from the destructive course they are bent upon. Still, we’ve observed Men for a long time and have come to realize they seldom make changes willingly until Nature forces them to so do. Look around you, beloved kindred, Nature is speaking.

Can we be Born as one Type of Elf, Fae or Otherkin in One Life and Another Kin Type in a Different Incarnation?

May 22, 2020

elves
“. . .  our bodies, overall, are merely forms that our spirits have created from our own inner visions, thus surely a person can change their form or otherkin type from one life to another. And certainly there are those who alter what they think of as their kin type in a single lifetime, instinctually gravitating in the long run toward the realization of their true nature and the form which best expresses it.”

Note: The photo featured above, titled “Dragon Sorcerer” is of the original acrylic painting by Zardoa Silverstar that is on the cover of Sorcerers’ Dialogues by The Silver Elves.

  tiny_green_7star

If we consider that nearly all fae are in some sense shapeshifters or have the magical power of glamourie then we would certainly have the power to appear in whatever form that we may choose from one incarnation to another. And certainly, we do alter our form as we inhabit a new body in each incarnation, although it is quite possible that certain individuals have a preferred type, just as they have a sexual preference for blonds or whatever and may choose the same sort of body that looks similar to our previous bodies over and over again. People often get involved with or marry the same sort of individual time after time, and we elfae also have inner preferences that guide us in our own development and alignment with a particular kintype.

And we might note that our bodies, overall, are merely forms that our spirits have created from our own inner visions, thus surely a person can change their form or otherkin type from one life to another. And certainly there are those who alter what they think of as their type in a single lifetime, instinctually gravitating in the long run toward the realization of their true nature and the form which best expresses it.

Yet, at the same time, there is a sense that our spirits are seeking some way to manifest their essential being in a form that is pleasing to thems’elves and, most often but not always, in a form that is pleasing to others. We seek to express ours’elves in our elfae and otherkin forms in order to come to understand our essential natures, to interact with our others in harmonious and loving ways, and to manifest our creative s’elves but also to attract those we desire, sometimes altering ours’elves to do so. Just as men and women and others seek to make themselves more beautiful and appealing to those who have stirred their inner being, or libido at least. We tend to become like those who appeal to us. Or we become their complementary opposite. Our forms are transitory and our strategy, in the long run, as is the case with flowers using scent to attract bees to spread their pollen, is to appeal to those who we feel will further our being and our success.

This rather flies in the face of those who still have a materialistic idea concerning life on Earth and feel that our elfae or otherkin nature is determined by biology. According to those folk, we are what we are and have no choice but to be so due to our genetic inheritance. But it is this very idea that tends to disapprove of those who are transkinder (those otherkin who may shapeshift into various otherkin types) in some form or other or of those that are transgender who feel they are a woman trapped in a man’s body or a man in a woman’s body and so forth. To be clear, transkinder (along with those otherkin who are not shapeshifters) and transgender are two completely different communities, and a person is not one just because they are the other. Otherkin is not a subset of the trans/nonbinary community. However, both transkinder of the otherkin community and transgender individuals are all essentially shapeshifters (even if they are shifting with a different set of philosophical concerns relating to identity and ontological being) and they are both quite often of an elfae nature for among us shapeshifting is natural and generally accepted. It is part of who we are.

We elfae and others, and especially we elven, are a very flexible and adaptable people. We seek to fit in and harmonize with everyone while retaining our essential otherness and generally seeking to accept others for whom they are as well. Thus, when someone alters their kintype expression, it is simply the way it is to us. In our elven point of view, it is not entirely unlike children who wish to learn the saxophone and then decide they would rather play the piano or some other instrument. It is all a part of exploring and developing and coming to understand ones’elf while acquiring various skills and abilities along the way, as well as a basic familiarity with this, that and other things. What in colleges and universities is often referred to as a liberal education.

This altering of kintypes is also not that different from those who have one hero and then find another, or those who are into this fad or group or band and then find another more appealing. In time we come to know ours’elves and while our interests don’t need to narrow, our expression often becomes more selective as we choose to pursue those creative fields that most appeal to us and which, quite often, those we find we are good at and that others encourage us to pursue. or that we have determined at some time to develop whether anyone else encourages us or not.

So, be whatever you wish to be, beloved kindred, and if you feel yours’elf transforming, it may just be that you thought you were a caterpillar and are turning out to be a butterfly.

Now A Gift For You!!!!!
What Kind of Elf or Otherkin Are You?
And What is Your Elfae or Otherkin Tribe?

For years various kindred have asked us, the Silver Elves, to help them figure this out. You probably know if you are an elf, faerie, or otherkin but now we’ve created a questionnaire in order to help us and you create a narrative together about your specific people and your clan, their personal characteristics, magic, relationship to Nature, and interests. This is our gift to you (free), which we think will be a bit of fun for both of us. Give us five minutes of your time and we will give you a half hour to forty minutes of ours and send you your unique magical narrative. Simply follow this link and the directions on the page: http://silverelves.angelfire.com/HAelfkin.html

“When the day begins to dawn before the sun does show,
The Way to Elfin opens then betwixt the twilight’s glow.
And when the sun does fade away yet light doth still touch the land,
The time hath come when you may run to join your elfin band.”

Elf Tribes contains 150+ narratives of elven tribes, and Faerie, Fae and Otherkin Tribes contains another 150+ narratives of faerie and otherkin tribes. We also invite you to read ELVES, FAERIES, FAE, AND OTHERKIN TRIBES: More Descriptions of Otherworldly Folk. It is the third book in the series of Elf, Fae and Otherkin tribes by The Silver Elves. After publishing the first two books in this series, we Silver Elves continued to have many of our kindred fill out the kin type survey and contact us asking for a tribe narrative, so this third book in the series contains all of these new tribe narratives to this date and is dedicated to a variety of tribes of elven kind, faeries, fae that are faerie blends, otherkin, otherworldlies, and miscellaneous assorted fae. The 124 tribe narratives in this third volume are all newly published and are not found in the two previous books. Some of the narratives are a bit longer than those in the first two books. These tribe narratives will beautifully describe to you about their history, their unique powers, their unique magics and spiritual beliefs and practices, their way of governing, their spell crafting and herbal adeptship, along with their lifestyle and special creative interests and abilities.

Be sure and click on the title links above and read a few of these magical tribe narratives. Perhaps, you will find your people as you read through these two books, or kindred quite like them. At any rate, you can always do the survey yours’elf, or do it again if you feel you have come to a greater understanding of yours’elf and our peoples in the meantime (or gentle-time as we elves often say).

The Elven Way: The Magical Path of the Shining Ones

Elven saying on the cover of The Elven Way:

the-silver-elves-quotes-2

Many Kindred have asked us what is “The Elven Way.” Although we have written books on it (see our book The Elven Way: The Magical Path of the Shining Ones), here below is our short definition:

Short definition ofThe Elven Way” by The Silver Elves

“The Elven Way is the spiritual path of the Elves. It is not a religion. While all elves are free to pursue whatever spiritual path they desire, or not as the case may be, The Silver Elves are magicians and follow no particular religious dogma. We do however believe in all the Gods and Goddesses, (also Santa Claus [to whom we’re related], the tooth fairy [distant cousins] and the Easter or Ostara Bunny [no relation]) and try to treat them all with due respect. The Elven Way promotes the principles of Fairness, that is to say both Justice, Elegance and Equal Opportunity and Courtesy that is respectful in its interactions and attitude toward all beings, great or small. We understand the world as a magical or miraculous phenomena, and that all beings, by pursuing their own true path, will become whomever they truly desire to be. Our path is that of Love and Magic and we share our way with all sincerely interested individuals.”

“To remind us ever of the need to rise up and lift our others with us, to have compassion for others even those who oppose us, to endeavor to understand the true natures and motivations not only of ours’elves but all others, the Shining Ones send us Sages who appear in many forms, in nearly all cultures and speak though various social and religious philosophies encouraging us to strive toward the light, to seek ever the good of all, and to further spiritual evolution in all that we do. We elves call this the Way of the Fair or The Elven Way. The Path is never-ending, the Way is ever before us, the Choice is always now, and we are eternally evolving. This is the Elven Way. The enculturation and other protections that shield the normal folk from the realization of other dimensions are lifted when the elf steps upon the path and begins to tread the Elven Way. The Elven Way gives our lives meaning and purpose. We come to understand who we truly are, that is that we are spirits evolving and we establish a purpose in our lives, which generally might be expressed as aiding ours’elves and all others to fulfill ours’elves perfectly. That is to say, we become who are truly are, which is who we truly desire to be. Remember, we ever wish to be our own true s’elves as perfectly as possible, which means among other things to be happy and successful forever, to live Happily Ever After.”
—The Silver Elves

“Elfin sings upon the dawn and dances through the whole day long
until the night doth gently rise with starlight cast upon our eyes,
and love abounds and circles ’bout,
and we greet the moon with howling shout.”
—The Silver Elves

If you have enjoyed reading our over 100 articles on our two blog sites, we think you may surely enjoy reading one of our most popular The Silver Elves books: Through The Mists of Faerie: A Magical Guide to the Wisdom Teachings of the Ancient Elven:
