We Silver Elves are very excited about The Faerie Song Oracle and we think you will love using this original elfin oracle too . . . . . .

THE FAERIE SONG ORACLE: The Elven Way of Singing Down Magic of the Fae is so named because it is an original elfin oracle system based upon the solfège or solfeggio system, also called solfa, solfeo, which is used as a music education method in the West to teach aural skills, pitch and the sight-reading of the music scale. That scale is Do, Re, Me, Fa, Sol or So, La and Te, with another Do representing a higher octave, at the end. We have presented these notes in this oracle according to the way they would be spelled in Arvyndase, which is the Silver Elves magical elfin language. And, therefore, these musical sounds/notes would be spelled: DO, RAE, ME, FA, SOL, LA, and TE, which as you can see only differs in one instance. The pronunciation, however, is the same. The Faerie Song Oracle book is meant to be used as an oracle, but it is also a book of magic. Thus, the sounds can be sung together to create a particular magic that either heightens the power of a boon or dispels unwanted influences. The Silver Elves associate these notes with each of the points of the seven-pointed acute angled Elven Star that many people call the Faerie Star. For each oracle reading, you will be drawing two notes. So you might consider that in drawing the faerie song oracle you are dealing with the power of two of the points of the elven star combined (each point signified by a different note) or one of the points in its pure form (if both of the notes that you draw are the same, as say when you get Rae-Rae as a response). The second Rae can be sung on a higher octave evoking a raising or increase of that power.

We explain in the introduction, two easy ways to use this oracle book, either with dice or a regular card deck to determine the combination of two notes that relates to your oracle. Complete instructions with examples are given so you can begin right away using this oracle book. And along with the basic descriptive interpretation for each of the 49 oracles you may draw, you will find with each the following 15 additional sections of information designed to help inspire you with any magic you may perform in association with the specific oracle you have drawn. These are: 1.) Conjure (spirit), guides to conjuring an elfin spirit; 2.) Druid (Bard, Ovate), specific tones to enchant energy into your life; 3.) Healing (herbs), healing plants to use in your magic; 4.) Thaumaturgy (stars), the name of an elven spirit or constellation to evoke to help you with the magic of this oracle; 5.) Sorcery (psychology/attitude), perception and attitude for success in your magic; 6.) Spell (spellcasting), spells to enhance the magic of the oracle; 7.) Wizard (knowledge), book and movie suggestions to assist you in gaining more knowledge of the magic of the oracle; 8.) Witch (animal familiar), reveals what familiar will help you with the magic of the oracle you have drawn; 9.) Pyromagery (energy), suggestions are given for action or energy on the various planes, physical, mental/imaginal, astral; 10.) Necromagery (ancestors), you are guided in this section as to what the ancestors have to say to you; 11.) Enchantment (chant/song), songs are suggested to evoke feeling and memory to assist you in your magic; 12.) Alchemy (crystals), gives some gems to use related to your oracle; 13.) Battle Magic (defense/wards, incense, candles, etc.), this section suggests basic Apotropaic magic; and 15.) Mage (motto), here, a motto is given, like a short chant, to help you along the way. These will all aid you to heighten the magical effects of using the oracle drawn, help ward off negative influences, and guide those energies in a better direction. At the end of each oracular response, we have provided a place for handy reference ideas for easy use of this oracle.

Below you will find the complete table of contents, followed by an excerpt ( chapter titled ‘The Faerie Circle’, LA-ME) from the The Faerie Song Oracle, as an example of an oracle you might draw using this book to guide your life.

We hope you enjoy reading below a sample excerpt from The Faerie Song Oracle:

6.3. THE FAERIE CIRCLE, LA ME.

Mushrooms growing in a circle are often referred to as being a Faerie Circle, the idea being that they grow where the faeries dance at night. Faeries and Fae folk overall are traditionally seen as dancing in circles, round and round, faster and faster till dawn or exhaustion makes them rest. It is in the Faerie Circle and the dance of the faeries that the magic is raised up from the Earth and mixed with the magic drawn down from the Moon and the Stars. It is the chemistry and alchemy of wonder.

The Faerie Circle is a group activity, which doesn’t mean you can’t dance the Faerie Circle on your own but in dancing the Faerie Circle you will inevitably draw your kindred toward you. Magic attracts magic.

Having this as a reply to a question put to the oracle indicates the importance of joining with others to achieve your goals, but it also speaks of perseverance and persistence. The idea that the elfae folk go around the circle again and again ever gaining in speed denotes that the more we practice something and seek to improve ours’elves, the better we get at doing it and the easier it becomes to do it and the faster and more efficiently we will be able to do it. This answer to the oracle says continue on. Whatever you are doing, do it more and seek to do it better. And if you have friends that can join you, that will make the whole process more enjoyable, but even if you have to proceed alone, keep on, your devotion will pay off.

Additional Database

  1. Conjure (spirit)

Conjure ritual. Most of the magic we elfae do is ad hoc, spontaneous, impromptu and extemporaneous. However, all of us have daily rituals of living and if you can integrate your magic with those day-to-day duties, habits and responsibilities, then you create magic in the normal world and transform the mundane into the magical. So, examine what you do every day and make it all more magical as you move through the world in a circle from your bed and back again, as the Earth rotates around itself and around the Sun and as the Sun spins around the galaxy. This is the great Faerie Circle. So, dance in a circle or spin as the Sufis do, in that way joining in the Great Dance that is Life. And

  1. Druid (Bard, Ovate)

La Me is the chant of the s’elf. Chant La Me and assert your independence even, or particularly, in a group setting. In this way, the Faerie Circle is a little bit like jazz. Everyone doing their own music, riffing off a common theme. We are all dancing together around the circle but we are all doing our own dance of s’elf expression at the same time. This is a very Aquarian way of proceeding. Everyone doing their own thing together, which is very elven in its way. Be yours’elf among others, not opposed to them but independent among them. You have a right to be yours’elf. Dominance is not an elven virtue. We are a partnership society. We are not seeking leaders but rather those who inspire us to be ours’elves as we proceed together upon the Elven Way. Chant La Me and feel the magical power of yours’elf growing as others grow around you. We are all trees and flowers reaching for the sky in joyous s’elf expression.

  1. Healing (Herb)

Well, mushrooms are the obvious choice here. You can find these in any grocery store. If you find them in the wild beware that there are poisonous Unseelie toadstools that glamor thems’elves to look like edible mushrooms. And if you find mushrooms in a Faerie Circle, ask politely first before removing one and then if it feels right to do so be sure to tap it upon the ground to release some of its spores. Also, before washing it, tap it upon your magic table or on the magical tools you seek to enchant.

  1. Thaumaturgy (stars)

Evoke the constellation Camelopardalis. In Arvyndase, we call it Elpan. Let your Faerie sight come alive and see what is truly around you.

  1. Sorcery (psychology/attitude)

Spin around like a Sufi. Dance in a circle like the fae. Wave your hands with the magic, casting it into the world as though you are flinging holy water on an unconsecrated world.

  1. Spell (spellcasting)

Round and round we spin and twirl

Dancing till the rising sun

Calling magic from the Earth

Until our magic’s done.

Arvyndase:

Ond nar ond eli solo nar morst

Fardas ted tae luftdas sar

Koardas êldon an tae Eldanil

Murted eli’na êldon’da baïn.

Pronunciation:

Ohnd nair ohnd e – lie so – low nair more-st

Fair – dace teed tay loof-t – dace sair

Co – air – dace l – doan ane tay Eel – day – nile

Muir – teed e – lie’nah l – daon’dah bah – in.

  1. Wizard (knowledge)

See our books Elf Magic Mail: The Original Letters of the Elf Queen’s Daughters with Commentary by The Silver Elves, vols. 1 and 2.

  1. Witch (animal familiar)

Call the Swisher bird that is seen as a link to the Faerie Realms. There’s magic for you there.

  1. Pyromagery (energy)

Make a circle. Make it of rocks or chalk or flour or cornmeal or salt or glitter or whatever you have around and will work for the area you are in and the magic you are evoking.

  1. Necromagery (ancestors)

Did you ever spin as a child? Until you got so dizzy you fell down? Remember those days and the one who showed you how to do this in the first place.

  1. Enchantment (chant/song)

Listen to the song Crystal by Stevie Nicks.

  1. Alchemy (crystals)

Consider using Azurite for this magic. It will clear the way, realign the chakras and get things moving for you.

  1. Astrology (day of week)

Since the Fairy Circle dance is traditionally held at night, do this magic from anywhere between 8 in the evening to 4 in the morning.

  1. Battle Magic (defense/wards, etc.)

If you don’t have a faerie ring near you, buy a box of mushrooms from the store. Don’t wash them. You want as much of that nature smell as you can get. Place them in a circle around your magic.

  1. Mage (motto)

     The Circle Never Ends.

Quick Interpretation:

Make yours’elf better. Make yours’elf better at what you do, especially in your relations with others. And keep doing it, over and over, improving as you go along until it all becomes near effortless and begins to shine with its own radiance. This will bring you the success you desire in relation to this question. And dance. This is the way to Faerie.
