Are Elven Vortexes Hierarchical?

    

    

“. . . . for us Silver Elves, in particular, and for most elves we know, there is no set hierarchical figure in our social life or magical groups, which is to say in our vortexes, covens or other magical formulations. What we tend to have, however, which is a sort of hierarchy, is the prevalence of charismatic individuals. Although being enchanters for the most part, there are often a good many charismatic individuals among us, unlike cults where there is just one charismatic leader who rules everyone and everything. . . . There are no fixed positions of hierarchy among us, no inherited positions really, there is only manifest charisma that will surely change as others grow into their own true s’Elves, which is inevitable if the elf “in charge” is really doing their job correctly and nurturing the power and energy in everyone that comes to them.”

     In Stephen Mace’s Seizing Power he explores the question concerning whether covens, vortexes (elven magical gatherings), lodges or other magical groups need to be hierarchical or whether they are actually better off being run through consensus. We won’t go over his conclusions here, our readers can get his book if they wish thems’elves. Although, we will say we very much like his writings, although they are quite intellectual and may not appeal to everyone. For our own part, we elves enjoy reading authors who are more knowledgeable and intelligent than we currently are, but that may not be the case for everyone. Rather, what we wish to do here is explore our own thoughts on this issue that were provoked by his considerations. Although, we will say that Mace, being a theorist of Chaos Magic and inspired by the works of Austin Osman Spare, is more inclined toward consensus, where possible and practical, than hierarchy.

     We elves, despite what tradition and lore says about us, are essentially a consensus folk and even anarchist as people (if you define anarchy in terms of individualistic rather than a miscellaneous group of malcontents wanting to tear everything down, ala The Joker of the Batman world). Consensus is surely the ideal, although we are realistic enough to understand that in some cases, and among some types of elfae, hierarchy is bound to take place. Certainly, the grimlins, goblins, orcs and so forth are more inclined, in our experience, to favor hierarchy, in some cases theocratic hierarchy (grimlins), more than we elves, pixies, brownies and other fae peoples do.

     If you went by the traditional lore and many modern stories about us, you’d think that we are all led by kings and queens, etc. But for us Silver Elves, in particular, and for most elves we know, there is no set hierarchical figure in our social life or magical groups, which is to say in our vortexes, covens or other magical formulations. What we tend to have, however, which is a sort of hierarchy, is the prevalence of charismatic individuals. Although being enchanters for the most part, there are often a good many charismatic individuals among us, unlike cults where there is just one charismatic leader who rules everyone and everything. This is not to say that this couldn’t happen among elves but, overall, is less likely to occur because of our strong individual nature. It is simply a rule of thumb to say that those who would follow such a single charismatic leader would only do so until they are developed enough as elven spirits to pilot their own way. It is the effects and leftover indoctrination from the normal world that leads them to follow such leaders. This is much in the way that children are led by their parents until, in fact, they can take care of thems’elves and guide their own lives.

     What we have instead is a sort of artistic hierarchy. By this we mean that whoever initiates a project, magical ritual, etc. is the one in charge of it. Those who wish to join in do and those who don’t go elsewhere or do something else. There is an understanding, however, that when elves gather together for a purpose of doing magic for this or that goal that they will cooperate toward the realization of that goal.

     Unlike mankind, where the leaders give directions and the workers carry them out, among elves usually, those who do most of the work are also the ones who are in charge. We, however, do consider organizing things as effort and thus would be counted as work, although we are not overly fond of that word and tend to like to think of everything as a form of play. Play, not only in the sense of being playful and having fun, but play in the sense of acting and a performance, which are forms of enchantment.

     Back when we were part of the Elf Queen’s Daughters (1970s), our sisters of the Fox River Vortex pointed out that for them, leadership was always a provisional thing. One person or pairing of individuals might guide things for a while and at other times another person among them or pairing would rise to ascendance. Really, it is all about who has the power/energy at a particular time.

     It is not impossible that one or two may dominate a vortex for a long time, if they are powerful, knowledgeable and wise but again they must demonstrate that knowledge and wisdom regularly. There are no fixed positions of hierarchy among us, no inherited positions really, there is only manifest charisma that will surely change as others grow into their own true s’elves, which is inevitable if the elf “in charge” is really doing their job correctly and nurturing the power and energy in everyone that comes to them.

For those wondering . . . . this is our The Silver Elves lineage at a glance drawn out by Zardoa Silver Star of The Silver Elves.  For those viewing it, the ‘vortexes’ are what The Elf Queen’s Daughters (EQD, 1974-1977) called their elven covens (they were elven witches), of which we were the vortex/coven named the Elves of the Southern Woodlands (see on right side). Later when the EQD disband in 1977, we began calling ours’elves the Sylvan Elves and then we changed our name to The Silver Elves when we migrated to California and began writing our Magical Elven Love Letters. We thought you might enjoy seeing this drawn out and viewing the dozen or so vortexes/elven covens of the EQD in those early times. The EQD were the first elven group in the modern times to publish articles and they also were the first of the modern elven to adopted the 7 pointed star as the elven star. How fortunate we were to be a part of this amazing group of elves and we Silver Elves are forever thankful for our elven ancestors The Elf Queen’s Daughters (see our The Silver Elves books on Amazon titled Elf Magic Mail, volume 1 & also volume 2, for more on The EQD).

From an Elven Perspective, What is the Importance of One’s Magical Lineage?

“Look back upon your own magical history, dear kin, and we suspect that you will find that whether you are a novice or an adept that your magical lineage is wider and vaster than you may have realized, going back through the ages to the ancients of your particular tradition, even if your tradition is a new offshoot of another tradition. Remember the ancestors, beloved, for they are not only, nor primarily, the ancestors of our physical forms but even more so the ancestors of our spirits and the magic that we wield. They are our lineage and we are the elfae that they envisioned.” 

     All of us have a magical lineage. Sometimes it is a clear one, wherein one was initiated into and trained by this or that particular occult or esoteric group and other times our lineage is less obvious. And truly, for most of us, even those who can state a direct link to some traditional group, coven, etc., our magical lineage really includes not only what we learned in that particular group but also what we have learned from books, movies and individuals we’ve encountered in our lives that affected us and our magical and spiritual development.

     Some people claim a family heritage to their magic and whether their claims are as authentic as they present them to be, they are surely valid at least in an otherworldly way. For most of us received magical instruction concerning various formulas of folk magic (what is commonly referred to as superstitious beliefs and practices), basic hedgewitchery as it were, from our families. We Silver Elves received such instruction from our families, who considered themselves to be Christian and yet still passed on to us the folk lore of their ancestors with a wink and a smile and a reference to what the old folks used to say.

     This is not to say that there are not those who received instruction through association with various orders and organizations, covens and ‘churches’ of magic, our children certainly did. However, we need not deride those whose training and inspiration came to them primarily through television, movies, books or even their school friends. The significant factor is not that the initial training came from hedges but that they were instinctively drawn to magic in the first place. And for elfae folk, this would also mean being drawn to Elfin, Faerie and the enchantments of our peoples.

     It is true that such haphazard modes of magical training in movies and works of fiction are frequently filled with hyperbole and fantasy concerning our powers and even worse sometimes teach the most utter nonsense concerning elves, fae and magic overall. And this is what more formal organizations and covens attempt to overcome and counteract, seeking to give realistic and practical training in the Ars Magica. But then, we Silver Elves have in the course of our lives encountered organizations that also teach the most ridiculous gibberish. So being organized is not, in and of itself, a deterrent to errant folly. And again, as we say, even those who are a part of or have been educated in magic by a particular group still receive their magical education from other sources. This is, at least, surely the case for we who are elfae, for we seek inspiration everywhere.

     For our own part, we Silver Elves were trained by the Elf Queen’s Daughters. But previous to that we had been initiated into three different meditation societies, had some informal training by a fellow named Simon, that everyone called Simon the Magician, who sent us to our local college library’s reserved section where they had original copies of Crowley’s Equinox and, as we said, instruction in enchantment and folk tradition from our parents as well as gleaned from various movies and television shows about magic. Formal training is not the only valid magical training, nor always the best.

     And yet acknowledging and understanding one’s magical lineage, which includes not only the individuals and groups that trained one but also the types of magic one does, can be quite important. It not only gives one a certain sense of validity and authenticity in one’s magic, but each of us through our training naturally pick up elementals that are gifted to us by those individuals and things that enlightened us and our magic. And as we do magic, including, of course, enchantment, spirits are attracted to us who not only feed off our magical energy, in a sense, but also empower us at the same time. It is a reciprocal exchange of energy and to our mutual benefit.

Many Kindred have asked us what is “The Elven Way.” Although we have written books on it (see our book The Elven Way: The Magical Path of the Shining Ones), here below is our short definition:

Short definition of “The Elven Way” by The Silver Elves

“The Elven Way is the spiritual path of the Elves. It is not a religion. While all elves are free to pursue whatever spiritual path they desire, or not as the case may be, The Silver Elves are magicians and follow no particular religious dogma. We do however believe in all the Gods and Goddesses, (also Santa Claus [to whom we’re related], the tooth fairy [distant cousins] and the Easter or Ostara Bunny [no relation]) and try to treat them all with due respect. The Elven Way promotes the principles of Fairness, that is to say both Justice, Elegance and Equal Opportunity and Courtesy that is respectful in its interactions and attitude toward all beings, great or small. We understand the world as a magical or miraculous phenomena, and that all beings, by pursuing their own true path, will become whomever they truly desire to be. Our path is that of Love and Magic and we share our way with all sincerely interested individuals.”

     “To remind us ever of the need to rise up and lift our others with us, to have compassion for others even those who oppose us, to endeavor to understand the true natures and motivations not only of ours’elves but all others, the Shining Ones send us Sages who appear in many forms, in nearly all cultures and speak though various social and religious philosophies encouraging us to strive toward the light, to seek ever the good of all, and to further spiritual evolution in all that we do. We elves call this the Way of the Fair or The Elven Way. The Path is never-ending, the Way is ever before us, the Choice is always now, and we are eternally evolving. This is the Elven Way. The enculturation and other protections that shield the normal folk from the realization of other dimensions are lifted when the elf steps upon the path and begins to tread the Elven Way. The Elven Way gives our lives meaning and purpose. We come to understand who we truly are, that is that we are spirits evolving and we establish a purpose in our lives, which generally might be expressed as aiding ours’elves and all others to fulfill ours’elves perfectly. That is to say, we become who are truly are, which is who we truly desire to be. Remember, we ever wish to be our own true s’elves as perfectly as possible, which means among other things to be happy and successful forever, to live Happily Ever After.”

Do Elves Really Awaken to Being Elfin?

“. . . . really, we don’t awaken to being elves or others, but we simply put a name or type upon what we always knew ours’elves to be but didn’t always know what to call it. We have ever known ours’elves to be otherworldly beings of some sort, but awakening really marks that astounding moment when we come to know what that sort actually is and embrace it fully.”

     Back in the mid-1970’s, we awakened to our true elven nature when we encountered and joined with our beloved kindred of the Elf Queen’s Daughters (EQD). At this point, we Silver Elves began speaking of Awakening. At that time, however, we called ours’elves the Elves of the Southern Woodlands (as a vortex/coven of the EQD). Later, in the early 1980’s, when we first started writing and sending out by snail mail and years later by email, our Magical Elven Love Letters, which were a continuation of the Elf Magic Mail published by the EQD, we would write of our awakening and others would write to us about theirs.

     This still occurs to this day. This term of awakening that we Silver Elves began using back in these early times of our elven group has moved into wider usage among elfae folk. This developed in the same way that the seven-pointed acute angled Elven star that some refer to as the Faerie star that our sisters of the EQD first associated with elf folk, has also been adopted and is used by elves and fae folk worldwide.

     However, recently, one of our kindred here had the thought that the term “Awakening,” may actually be a bit of a misnomer. In a way, it is like saying the sun rises or sets, when we know scientifically that’s not what is actually occurring. So, speaking of awakening in many ways is like saying the sun rose on my elven life and set upon my worldly life, or something like that.

     Our beloved kindred here, pointed out to us that, in fact, we elfae folk really always knew that we were different. We sense it from our earliest days in the world and it is expressed in our reaction to the rules, morés and efforts of the world and to social enculturation and their attempts at inculcation of their values about how to be normal in the world and the fact that almost all of what normal folk tell us doesn’t make a bit of sense to us. It is as though they are speaking some unknown language that sounds like the language we are brought up with, uses the same words but utterly fails the test of logic and reason so that the words just seem to be thrown together randomly. “Gibberish so to us is much their words.”

     We sense (feel) our connection to being Elfae or Otherkin very early in our lives (often long before we awaken to our particular kin type) from our love of Nature and being in it as much as possible, from our interest in Magic, from our fervor in building fairy houses and leaving gifts for those unseen by most, from collecting what me can that relates to the world of Faerie and Nature, from doing oracles, and/or from the love of reading tales of elves, fairies, dragons and other worldly beings.

     We don’t Awaken to being elves or elfae or others really, although we still like that term and use it. It is not like we are asleep to our inner Elven Nature in our feelings and suddenly awake to it. Rather, it is more that our thinking brain gets on board to unite with our instinctual feelings and Inner Nature and we “name” our kin type for the first time. What we do is find a kin type that fits our true nature, such as being elven, pixie, brownie, gnome, faerie or werewolf or whatever, and we suddenly realize that the description of those particular beings is what resonates with our soul and spirit rather than all those other ideas concerning our being that normal folk have projected upon us our entire lives and expect us to conform to. And, we really owe them a debt of gratitude. Their attempts to get us to conform to their ridiculous notions of what we should be like and the fact that they so often called us by various rude and offensive terms seeking to tear us down for being different, simply confirmed for us that we were not really one of them. All their judgments and efforts to deride us ensured our own sense of otherworldliness and our own preternatural being. Everything they did contributed to our own quest to understand our inner fae or otherworldly being. Whether they sought to bind us by their clumsy spells of name calling, or shoved us away from them with derision, telling us that we just were just not right, adequate or sane, all served to confirm to us that we didn’t really belong along them and we were right to seek our lives and our natures elsewhere.

     In calling us weirdos and freaks and other such names, they helped open the way to our own understanding of what we truly were. And when we encountered those kintypes in fantasy and fiction that truly hummed with our inner s’elves, it made it all that much easier to embrace these archetypes of being. The fact that they believe that most of these beings: elves, faeries and others, don’t actually exist just made it even simpler to understand that those beings were exactly what we were. For we had found in our experience that when it came to nearly anything and everything of importance, the normal folk were nearly always wrong and mistaken, especially about us.

   So, it is that, really, we don’t awaken to being elves or others, but we simply put a name or type upon what we always knew ours’elves to be but didn’t always know what to call it. At this point, we often feel a rush of energy and s’Elf acceptance as we have united our body and mind (our feelings and thinking). We have ever known ours’elves to be otherworldly beings of some sort, but awakening really marks that astounding moment when we come to know what that sort actually is and embrace it fully.

“In spiritual circles, people often speak of Old Souls. They are most often referring to very mature and wise beings who have clearly been on the evolutionary path of development for eons and eons. Of course, there are also ever those who refer to their own s’elves as being Old Souls and this, usually, is more of a proclamation of aspiration than one of reality. But the Old Souls, being the wise Souls that they are, and ever inclusive, do not deter these eagerly aspiring Spirits from their soulful calling. The Old Souls simply smile and nod and encourage them on their way.”

“Few, however, speak of Old Spirits, but the elven know that there are not only Old Souls, but Old Spirits as well. Old Spirits are very developed personalities. They are very unique, many would call them eccentric, beings who stand out from the mass of humanity. One knows there is something different about them, something special about them, but most are unsure exactly what that difference is.”

“Most Elfae are both Old Souls and Old Spirits, but we are still on the evolutionary path, and we are still following the Elven Way. While we are often more advanced in many ways than the mass of humanity, we also know that the difference between us is, when seen from the more subtle dimensions, quite small; otherwise we would most likely be elsewhere and not here. And we are also aware that even those who seem less advanced than we frequently have talents and abilities that we do not have. The Soulfully aware know there is always something that can be learned from each and everyone, no matter what hir level of development; and that the Spark of the Divine burns in every Soul just awaiting the breath of another Soul to fan it into a flame.”

“While we Elfae have been often, and for ages, ostracized by many of the social and ethnic groupings of humanity, who ever vie for dominance, we have come to realize that the means to mastering such beings is not by withdrawal, although sometimes we must do so for our safety, nor by attempting to dominate them in turn, but by embracing them from a higher state of realization. Thus we never accept their rejection of us, nor react to it. We ever follow our higher instincts, and pursue our own direction. We encourage their Soulfulness and their true Spirits; frequently we even admire them. But we have no obligation to be involved with these save as circumstance and fate demand. We accept them in their Divine Potential, but we do not necessarily involve ours’elves in their lives. Neither do we automatically reject them, our actions/our magic are ever based on our own sense of direction and intent. In this way, we become the Masters of our own Destiny.”

“How do we love them from a higher realm of being? By ever offering them courtesy and respect for their Spirits and their Souls. With courtesy the Elfae can attract such individuals, or send them on their way. With respect we encourage the development of their Souls and Spirits. Courtesy and respect are the basic policies, and the foremost magical powers, that all elves learn to use in interacting with others.”

While all elves are free to pursue whatever spiritual path they desire, or not as the case may be, The Silver Elves are magicians and follow no particular religious dogma. We do however believe in all the Gods and Goddesses, (also Santa Claus [to whom we’re related], the tooth fairy [distant cousins] and the Easter or Ostara Bunny [no relation]) and try to treat them all with due respect. The Elven Way promotes the principles of Fairness, that is to say both Justice, Elegance and Equal Opportunity and Courtesy that is respectful in its interactions and attitude toward all beings, great or small. We understand the world as a magical or miraculous phenomena, and that all beings, by pursuing their own true path, will become whomever they truly desire to be. Why Do Elven Witches Call their Covens “Vortexes”?

“This idea of the vortex as an elven coven was published back in 1974-76 when the Elf Queen’s Daughters was quite active and the Elf Magic Letters were sent out regularly and described the various vortexes (vortices) that existed at that time. . . . The elven idea has ever been that we are the vortex of power. It is our very coming together and living together, creating elven communities that creates this aura, atmosphere and domain of Elfin and Faerie and their powers manifest. . . . We are, in fact, a vortex of swirling, shimmering energy growing stronger as we grow closer together in harmony and mutual appreciation.”

Our sisters of the Elf Queen’s Daughters (EQD) wrote in the 70s that we elves referred to our covens as vortexes (or you may use the proper spelling of the plural “vortices”). This idea, however, was meant to also describe the small ealds of the EQD where various sisters and brothers had gathered together to live and do their elven magic and ply their elfin enchantments from there and out into the world, such as the vortex of the Fox River elves, our own Elves of the Southern Woodlands vortex, and the vortex our elf sister Tasa’s Hood River vortex. Thus, the vortex was a coven and also an eald or demesne of Elfin and a gathering of elfin being all at the same time. This idea of the vortex as an elven coven was published back in 1974-76 when the Elf Queen’s Daughters was quite active and the Elf Magic Letters (see our books Elf Magic Mail, vols. 1 and volume 2, that contain all of these letters) were sent out regularly and described the various vortexes (“vortices”) that existed at that time.

Witches’ covens are composed of members who come together and seek to raise the Cone of Power, which is, in fact, the Vortex of power and energy. The elven idea has ever been that we are the vortex of power. It is our very coming together and living together, creating elven communities that creates this aura, atmosphere and domain of Elfin and Faerie and their powers manifest.

This meaning of the Vortex of power and energy and thus elven covens being vortexes, is in keeping with another idea that our sisters of the EQD wrote about (and that we have seen repeated numerous times since) that we elves don’t so much do magic as “we are magic.” This goes along with the distinction we tend to make between magic as it is generally practiced as a power-over or dominating energy and as an enchantment (see our book The Keys to Elfin Enchantment) with magic practiced as an energy promoting and encouraging cooperation and mutual success and fulfillment. The enchanted do what we will, not because we force them to do so but because they find joy in doing so. Tolkien also made this distinction between magic and enchantment in his scholarly article On Fairy-Stories.

We have written elsewhere on the fact that it was our sisters of the EQD who in the 70s first used the seven-pointed acute angle star as the Elven Star, sometimes called the Faerie Star, that has become so popular in Elfae culture around the world. We carried on using this star, not only personally, by wearing it as an amulet around our necks for the last 40+ years, but also publishing it in our Magical Elven Love Letters (see volume 1, volume 2, and volume 3 of our books of the same title. And clearly, it got adopted and adapted and carried on and passed on by others of our kindred. In many ways, we could say that the elven star is the symbol of the energy transmitted by the elven vortexes from the tribe of our ancestors to the elven tribes of the ancient future.

While we don’t know the exact links from us as sister/brothers of the EQD onward, what is clear is that there is something about the Elven Star that calls to the hearts and imaginations of myriads of Elfae kindred everywhere and its prominence in the Elfae and Otherkin community may be due to something very similar to Jung’s idea of the Collective Unconscious, only with a less genetic and material basis for it and a more spiritual, mythic, imaginal and energetic Collective Unconscious. It is not so much memories and information secreted within our bodies as it is our culture hidden and carried within our souls and spirits. In doing our Elven, Fae and Otherkin tribe survey (see: https://silverelves.wordpress.com/2019/08/14/what-kind-of-elf-fae-or-otherkin-are-you-what-is-your-tribe), while we create narratives for our kindred based upon their specific answers to our questionnaire and we look mostly for what is unique about each tribe in doing so, we have still found many similarities among the Elfae folk of various tribes.

Our point here is that there is an energetic and soulful connection between and among the Elfae folk that inclines us toward a recognition of certain ideas and images. The Elven/Faerie Star is surely one of these, but so is the idea that we are magic within our very beings. We are, in fact, a vortex of swirling, shimmering energy growing stronger as we grow closer together in harmony and mutual appreciation. It is not that we are all the same, for certainly we are not, but that there is an energetic connection between us that is carried on from life to life and by which we are able to recognize our own kindred by sense and feeling if not by sight alone or seeing through the glamor that most of us have woven around ours’elves in order to pass safely through what can be, at times, a hostile world.

If you add to that the fact that we learn the esoteric secrets of Elfin magic mostly through osmosis, which is to say direct contact (as an oral tradition or we might say as a “living tradition”), most often in the flesh with our kindred, and we learn mostly through example, it becomes clear that our culture is not a stagnant one that is limited by doctrines, dogmas or religious structures, but an active spiral of energetic togetherness,. This increases in power in association with each other. Reach out, beloved kindred, let us grow our enchantments ever stronger in the vortex of our togetherness.

How Often Do Elves Do Magic?

“. . . most of what the majority of folks would call or think of as magic,

magic constantly in our daily life and when it needs to be done.”

How often do elves do magic? It depends upon the elves. In many ways, our magic is not done, so much as lived. We are magic, as the Elf Queen’s Daughters wrote years ago in their Elf Magic Mail. We exude magic. Enchantment and mystery radiate from us. And most of what the majority of folks would call or think of as magic, the actual doing of rituals or casting of spells and so on, we do on an impromptu and ad hoc basis. We perform magic constantly in our daily life and when it needs to be done. We send elementals off in this direction or that on this or that assignment.

Unlike most magical groups, we Silver Elves don’t have specific rituals for celebrating the Soltices and Equinoxes and so on. But, that is just us. Tië eldaliéva, the Elven Spiritual Path, as they call thems’elves, have taken Tolkien’s works on elves and created a ritual system pretty much attuned to what pagans are generally doing. We, on the other hand, just see what happens on a particular day and do what we feel is relevant. Of course, we know that there are some elves who hunger for more structure and as we say they can find it here or there, or really there but not here, or create it thems’elves, but they will be disappointed if they are looking to these elves for structure.

Our example is one of improvisation. This is why these elves in our The Book of Elven Magic, volume 1 and also volume 2, created rituals for those who were interested in ceremonies, including magic ceremonies for all the colors of the rainbow, as well as golden and silver magic ceremonies. So you can find within these two books magical ceremonies for purity, protection, healing, prosperity, creativity, opportunity, love, wisdom, harmony, as well as our inner magical secrets and the precepts of illuminated elven magicians. And while we give you these ceremonies and ritual guides, we emphasize that you should take them and make them your own, adapting them as wanted or needed. Unless, of course, you are very organizationally minded, which we are not, and then you could organize something and if we were around and the time seemed right to us we’d be glad to assist and attend with bells on our toes and smiles on our faces. We are not against people having organized magical rituals, we just aren’t inclined to organize it, and we certainly don’t intend to plan it, but if it happens that’s fine with us and we are always happy to add to it with our magical energy and Elven Blessings.

That doesn’t mean that we don’t have any magical rituals. We have been doing the I Ching everyday for the past 40+ years. So, we guess you could call that a ritual. We burn a bit of fire on our djinn’s lamp each day, feeding him for when he is needed magically. And Zardoa has a series of exercises and magical rituals, involving Reiki, Qigong and Elven Magic that he does every morning and evening sending out blessings to our kindred everywhere, and he has done so for awhile and will continue for however long. Until he stops, we guess. Occasionally, the whole process changes or mutates. Sometimes Zardoa adds something. Sometimes he alters what he is doing. The magic is ever transforming.

Silver Flame has her own magic rituals, as well, as she often uses Tarot cards or creates spells to help those we love and adore. She also has a practice she has been doing for years of doing magic in public places, sending out magical light from her eyes for Elven Blessings to those she feels need blessings, which is about everyone. We could do magic together on a daily basis, but that would require a bit of organization and that’s just unlikely to happen. In that way, we are typical elves of the Aquarian Age, each doing our own thing together. It is not that we never do magic in concert, for of course we do; and when we do it, it is both powerful and focused on the greater good of Elven Kind. As far as we are concerned, being together, and particularly being happy together, is our greatest magic, our great enchantment. And there are times when something comes up and needs to be dealt with and we put together this or that spell, or send off a spirit or two of the over five hundred that live with us to deal with it. But mostly we just leave them to enjoy thems’elves. No need for busy work here.

For the most part, we just are—we are elves together and that is an incredible magic and what else needs to be done really, except the dishes, which is really what ritual magic is about as far as we are concerned—doing dishes, which we do when they need to be done. Or sometimes, a little later, after they have piled up and there’s no room for cooking, which is another of our near daily rituals.

We Silver Elves created this Color Magic system as something fluid and individual. You start with what Color Magic you feel you are drawn to. If you don’t have a preference and are a person who likes things set in order, then start with One. If you are a person who likes to go more by your feelings, then choose first the one you are attracted to and feel you meed in your life. It is said that if you like to look at this in terms of order, one might think of the color sequence above as being akin to something like Maslow’s Heirarchy of Needs, only applied to magic and ritual. For instance, it’s hard to do Healing Green Magic, if one is under psychic attack and therefore one must first defend oneself and place barriers and be in a secure, safe place before one can do any healing. That is why, for example, Black Magic or Protection Magic is placed before Healing Green Magic. Also, “Health” is a perhaps the greatest wealth, which is why Healing Magic comes before Orange Magic for wealth generation, and so forth.

But remember that we often are working on more than one color magic at a time in our lives just as we have more than one need at a time that needs fulfilling. So while you certainly may go in an order 1 to 10, what you need is truly your decision and you may need to do more than one at a time. We don’t actually have charts or graphs in our books, most likely because the Elven Way is so fluid. Is it the Elf Star or the Faerie Star? And Who First Adopted the Seven-Pointed Star as the Elf Star?

“Since the five-pointed star represented Mankind…,

two for the legs, and two for the wings) and thus came up
with a 7 pointed star to represent the elves and
the evolution of mankind into the Angelic Realms.
Obviously, due to the wings, it represents our faerie kindred as well.”

Really, it is both. We call the seven-pointed acute-angled star the “Elven Star” because it was our sisters Arwen and Elanor, founders of the Elf Queen’s Daughters, EQD, (of which Zardoa of the Silver Elves was a member in their Carbondale, Il., vortex/coven, the Elves of the Southern Woodlands) who in the 70s were the first to adopt this star to represent the elves and started using it in the letters they wrote and circulated to elfin folk (see our Silver Elves books Elf Magic Mail, volumes 1 & 2, in which we have reproduced the original contents of those letters and described the graphics that adorned them and have also added our commentary upon the letters and the sisterhood.) Once the EQD abandoned their elven identity and groups in 1978, we Silver Elves formed our own group and continued to use the elven star on the The Magical Elven Love Letters (see our three volumes of books by that name to read all these early letters) that we began to circulate widely by snail mail through the 80s and 90s, and later on the internet. This is why you will also see an elven star on the cover of many of our The Silver Elves books.

Our sisters Arwen and Elanor first conceived (in this lifetime) of using this star for the elven and put them upon the EQD letters on numerous occasions. Since the five-pointed star represented Mankind (inspired in Arwen’s mind by Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man), Arwen Eveningstar added wings to that figure (so one ray for the head, two for the arms, two for the legs, and two for the wings) and thus came up with a 7 pointed star to represent the Elves and the evolution of humankind into the Angelic Realms. Obviously, due to the wings, it represents our faerie kindred as well. In fact, the very first letter of the Elf Magic Mail shared by the EQD that had this symbol showed a five-pointed star with wings called “The Winged Star.” Thus from the very beginning the idea existed beneath the surface that this was also the Faerie Star. So it represents all Fae folk, elves, pixies, faeries, brownies and otherkin and all are welcome to use it.

Something that always was interesting to us Silver Elves — and that is that Arwen first just sketched the 7 pointed “winged star” as an elven star on a napkin while dining out with Elanor and other members of the EQD.  This always made us laugh that she first sketched something that became so important to so many modern elven, faerie and otherkin on just a flimsy napkin and this really shows what simple creative genius elves really are! Of course this creative genius was not frivolous and Arwen had all her deep esoteric reasons for the 7 points as we have said, mainly adding 2 points for the wings to the 5 pointed star that already was used to represent mankind (head, 2 arms and 2 legs), and thus Arwen felt it represented the elven and faerie world and the Ancient Future. She was so well versed in occult knowledge that she also of course knew all the spiritual meanings of the number 7 (as well as how the 7 pointed star had been used by past occultist) and its relationship to the stars and Seven Sisters. Then the EQD soon after Arwen’s sketching the star, began publishing both the “winged star” and then also the acute 7 pointed star in many issues of their magical letters called “Elf Magic Mail,” which we and hundreds of other elfae got at that time in the 70s. We actually still have our original letter of the “winged star” (as well as most all of their other letters, a few which were also written by Zardoa Silverstar—founder of The Silver Elves—who was a member of the EQD at that time). And we have shared them in two volumes of Elf Magic Mail by The Silver Elves.

We have, for our own part, worn the elven star as an amulet for over forty years. We have at least a half dozen variations of it. From a very small elf star less than an half inch from side to side that we have upon one of our magical elven wands that we created, to a necklace piece that was made for us individually that is about three and a half inches in diameter. We even have one, about two inches across that comes from Jerusalem. We also have one that our sister Loriel gave us as a birthday gift that is a seven-pointed flower. And Arwen, Elanor, Loriel had a house south of Half Moon Bay that had a huge seven-pointed elf star, about six or seven feet in diameter, that was painted on the side of their home. We lived with them for over a month in the late 1970’s at this somewhat Rivendell like abode.

We Silver Elves carried on the tradition that the EQD created, putting the Elven Star on our own The Magical Elven Love Letters (see volumes one, two and three) throughout the 80s and 90s that we sent out to our elven and otherkin kin and over the years it apparently caught on. It would be nice, to our minds, if our kindred knew where it came from as it is part of modern elven and faerie history, but in the long run, it doesn’t really matter.

What does matter is that this star speaks to the heart of the elfae (the elven and faerie folk) and it is this reason that it has been taken up and carried on and used again and again to represent us. And surely, this would not have happened if in fact the elven/faerie star didn’t have something ancient to it. It sings to our hearts and imaginations because it truly connects us to our ancient kindred and it resonates in our Collective Unconscious. Otherwise it would have gone the way of so many things that have been put out there but passed by and forgotten. It calls to us. It reminds us of who we truly are and that is what truly matters. For it is the Elven-Faerie Star and we are all the kindred that it shines upon.

Of course all geometric figures have both literal and occult significance; yet, for the elves, the seven-pointed elven star contains foci that are quite unique to the elves as well as universal focus points that are applicable to the ten thousand modes of manifestation. Our winged-star focuses the elves upon 7 planes of being (physical, astral-sensual, mental, buddhic, atmic, para-nirvanic, nirvanic), which it activates 7 chakric and/or sensory centers (vision, homing, auric, auditory, touch, taste, smell). Men and wimin are not functionally interested in the “6th and 7th senses”, because of various cultural and evolutionary pathways that have become paramount in their present social pre-occupations. Meditation on the 7 Pointed Elven Star

Also we hope you enjoy the following meditation on the 7 pointed acute elven star, the elven-faerie star, that we Silver Elves created and published in Circle Network News in the 80s. You may find other versions that people have slightly adapted from this one to fit their own cosmology, but this is the original one and was created and first performed as a seven day meditation birthday gift for Zardoa Silverstar by Silver Flame, from elven heart to elven heart, opening the Gateway to Faerie. To be clear, while we love our original one here, we also find the adaption meditations and ray point meanings that others have done through the years to be quite magical as well, and the faeries particularly have made some adaptations to this meditation that are quite creative and beautiful indeed.

The original meditation on the Rays of the Seven Pointed Star by The Silver Elves in Circle Network News, Summer Edition 1986. [We have also added some of the side notes that were published with it.]:

What is the Difference Between Elves and Witches?

“….while elves can be witches, not all elves are witches
and surely not all witches are elves.”

We Silver Elves and our sisters of the Elf Queen’s Daughters of old always felt very close to witches and in fact the Elf Queen’s Daughters declared on a number of occasions that they were elven witches and this was surely true. They felt a close association with the witchcraft movement of that time (mid 1970s) and were very close with Oberon Zell Ravenheart and Morning Glory of the Church of All Worlds. They were also friends with Alison Harlow of the Covenant of the Goddess, Zee Budapest of the Dianic Movement and other prominent witches of that period. In fact, all of the above were featured on various of the letters of the Elf Magic Mail, which the EQD sent out each week, three letters (the amount you could send for one postage stamp) for over a year.

We Silver Elves also knew all of the above individuals, although we only ever meet Zee Budapest in passing. On the other hand we had spent times in several of the homes of Oberon and Morning Glory and Alison Harlow and in fact our friend Valerie Voight wrote a wonderful letter of recommendation for us to join the Covenant of the Goddess but as it turned out we didn’t pursue that, our path leading us elsewhere.

But while elves generally feel a kinship with witches, we also feel a link to nearly all magical practitioners. There are elven wizards, conjurors, mages, curanderos (magical healers), sorcerers, shamans, diviners and magicians. But, of course, we are particularly enchanters (see our book The Keys to Elven Enchantment: Mastery of the Faerie Light Through the Portals of manifestation) for enchantment is the main and primary magic of the elven and always has been both in lore and tradition and in reality.

In later years (we’ve know them for over forty years), the founders of the Elf Queen’s Daughters and the inner sisterhood tended toward Sorcery in their magic interest and practice but we Silver Elves still pursue enchantment as our primary magic. But the choice of what magic to do, as with nearly everything else concerning elves, is up to the individual elf and hir own spirit and soul. If the elf lets hir natural attractions guide hir, she is bound to find in time the magic that is perfect for hir.

So while elves can be witches, not all elves are witches and surely not all witches are elves. We did meet a woman one time who came to us for guidance and lessons on the magical path, who claimed that she was of witchbreed, that is to say born to be a witch. But even if that is so, and we don’t doubt her, it is still a matter of choice. She pursued witchcraft because she loved and was attracted to it and choose to do so. Of course, one could argue that she was born to love witchcraft, that it is in her blood but still the choice of acting upon it is hers. Without that choice, without that decision to act, there is no true magic. If we are compelled to do magic and have no choice in the matter then we are not magicians but puppets to someone else’s magic. Choose wisely, beloved.

What will happen to the Elven kin if Humanity destroys itself?

Elves know ours’Elves to be essentially spirit beings. We are not elves because of the shape of our bodies but rather our bodies are manifestations of our spirit. If it should happen, and we truly hope it doesn’t for it would be inconvenient for us, that man and some other kind destroy the environment to the point where we are unable to live upon the Earth in humanoid form, we would, of course, find other forms or planetary systems to live within and upon.

The vast majority of unawakened humans would in those circumstances reincarnate in whatever animal, fish or insect forms might be available and begin again the slow evolutionary ascent. Some elfin folk would go to other planets where similar forms might be found and some few, truly evolved elfin would rise to take their place among the Shining Ones.

It is also possible and perhaps in a way likely that some elfin would simply bide their time, living on the astral planes in the sort of nether and ethereal realms of Elfin that many folks assume to be the true Elfland, waiting for circumstances to develop where we may proceed with our efforts to master our ability to manifest upon the material planes of existence. Stepping from this to another timeline, another parallel world.

But our great hope is that enough of humanity will wake up and, even now in what seems to be this late date, transform thems’Elves sufficiently to continue our evolution upon this most wondrous crystal blue planet.

Letters No.14 . . . . Arhats and Mayavirupas
ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS AN ARHAT IS OBLIGED TO LEARN, ZARDOA . . . .
. . . . in lieu of the simple fact that he/she does not usually have a physical body, is how to create a mayavirupa. A maya-vi-rupa or in English : an illusory-life-body, represents that conglomerate, seeming living vehicle, made-up of substances gathered from elementals. The actual substance is etheric as opposed to gross physical, astral-flux and choice mental-elementals organized and then re-animated by an adept.

The fact that the “new” arhat is not as yet an adept, is the crux of the matter. He/she normally having been divested of a physical body by “sacrificing their life” to save the life of another, e.g., an imperiled human life and perhaps even the life of a wild-animal. A “new arhat” is never in-position to object to learning how to make a maya-vi-rupa. (Please check-out Werner Hetzog’s, “Bear Man” or “Grizzly Man” as a truly strange, convoluted example of an Arhatic-sacrifice for bruins)
You should realize, Z, that I don’t exactly explain everything to you or Neffie for a pretty good reason. My immediate superiors (for lack of a more suitable expression), definitely feel that candidates for all initiations are diminished greatly by “The Fraudulent Sophist Dialectics” used by rationalizing discourse in general. The “question and answers routine” is part of the problem and is too lame and archaic to become part of the solution. It definitely makes for good pupils but it conversely makes for lousy students.

In other words, if you ask questions and I answer them, that’s alright if your going to be my “charge or chela for life” (heaven forbid Z) but also . . . if I continue to answer questions, I’ll actually be stealing from you! I’d be robbing you of the opportunity for discovery, the only real treasure behind the overly-labored facts and concepts of the modern ideologies and philosophies. I prefer to assume you’re a proper savant (Neffie too) and that you’ll not only glean the facts and the pertinent concepts but that you’ll discover inner-meanings as well as the beauty-functions that oft elude the most erudite scholars of this corrupted day and age.

We won’t, in this regard, be trying to “make a long story short”, since a “short-version” quickly turns into another pathetic attempt to explain the ‘inexplicable’. Dabblers in the occult oft find themselves using terms and expressions that are inexplicable to any other than an eighty-year-old Theosophist with the fading memory of a thrice-brilliant-teenager.

First of all, please allow me to reiterate:
1. An advanced human being
2. An aspirant
3. A probationary disciple
4. An accepted disciple
5. A disciple within the aura of an ashram or the aura of an adept
6. A candidate for initiation. (normally 1st or 2nd degree)
7. An initiate (i.e. normally 3rd degree)
8. An arhat
9. An adept
10. A master
11. A chohan
12. A nirmanaskaya . . .

Now, we can detail our definition along with our empathy for the process. Without true empathy, we’re talking about cynics listening to Beethoven’s 9th Symphony (composed while he was deaf), a consummate rowdy witnessing the birth of an innocent child, a sophisticated urbanite situated alone in a primeval forest, an arrogant and intolerant person forced by circumstances to give mouth to mouth resuscitation to a 90 year old heart-attack victim (same sex), a know-it-all new-ager hearing the shrieks of a dying seagull and laughing in embarrassment., etc., etc., ad-infinitum.

The freshly endowed arhat is quite rare, since most Arhats have proven themselves as candidates for 4th initiation within several lifetimes. For point of example:
1. A fireman climbing one of the two-towers, during 9 -11, is endowed instantly unto the blessedness of Arhatship but must incarnate once again (to become fully endowed).
2. That is: endowed with an earned right to Arhatship, after making-up-training for initiation 1-2-3 in a unique single-lifetime (usually) for the specific purpose of manifesting as an Arhat.
3. A freshly endowed arhat (being rare) is endowed and vested instantaneously.
4. If one has the pre-requisite “ears” (higher faculty), the “angels or devas” sing – all vested Arhats are said to hear the song-of-songs and it’s sweetness is remembered by them throughout all eternity.
5. Without a Maya-Vi-Rupa an arhat would eventually fall (return again to be more righteously vested).
6. A fall rarely happens, because of intervention on the part of supra-dimensional agents (i.e., adepts) to reveal in a “show-and-tell” (literally) procedure.
7. It has been said that long centuries of discarnate training, in some cases, have always been worth the “trouble” but that most Arhats “train-up” in the equivalent of days or weeks.

We shall, in the next installment, take up the training proper involved in creating a maya-vi-rupa but as but a “taste”:
1. Working knowledge of the elemental ‘lives’ needs to be made profound. In other words, “hands-on”, no opinions, no crude experiments, a paying attention that is far-beyond that of the most erudite men and women; the arhat must begin to know the meaning of “inside-and-out”.
2. The “inside” is learning to ‘order’ the elements required in the making and the manifestation and the “outside” is learning exactly where they fit into an illusory structure of a gland, an appendage, a nose, etc., ad-infinitum.
3. Obedience is not in any way asked, nor is it implicate, it is absolutely demanded using the power of the arhats (plural).
4. Of great importance is the sequential DNA arrangements which will require several angelic or deva-collaborators – this is especially the point where an experienced arhat or adept is necessary.
5. Not a lecture, not a lab, not a graduate-dialogue-session, nor anything as like our incarnate experiential fuss-fairy teaching . . . a merging, a homing-telepathy, utterly non-verbal transfer of “know-how” and with energy-force management.
6. The illusory-life-body is missing an awful lot of what we might imagine a human being would need, just to pass, but all’s well . . . it just has to work for a specific task, at the very first making.
7. Maya-vi-rupas don’t fornicate (not ever as might be required for any significant reason), they aren’t meant to deceive but to complete their task and dissolve (as like in the Cinderella tale), they can do a great deal in terms of the inherent abilities of the particular arhat-adept who wields the maya-vi-rupa’s considerable beauty and function.

As we’ve told you previously…
Dear Arwen,
… our questions are not meant to be part of a Socratic or Dialectic Process, nor are they rhetorical, they are rather Meta-Questions (our word) intended to inspire thought about the process and not necessarily meant to be answered directed, but rather contemplated regarding the issues raised and the theme upon which you were expounding.

Your last letter on Arhats and Mayavirupas was excellent and masterful. Yes, do continue on that subject writing as much as you will in regard to it. (By the way, we are acquainted with the Grizzly Man film.)

The manifestation of the mayavirupa, or diamond body, in such a way as to appear to physical eyes to be material is surely a great accomplishment and many of the legends of elf and faerie folk, certainly speak of them in this way. In fact, most folks who “believe” in faeries view them from this perspective. Although many seers merely view a subtle body as such, while others might see a more physical seeming form. Bo told us of a faerie he saw that had that subtle appearance and we told him of a menehune we encountered that had that ghostly see-through manifestation. Of course, we sometimes encounter real physical form menehunes on the streets here, but we very much doubt they know or remember who they are anymore.

And there are those who simply refuse to believe in faeries in any other way. They must be a subtle body projection, or a tiny human with wings. They simply can’t see or accept the spiritual nature of reality.

The future of humanity is surely, in part, to develop mayavirupas as a bodily form. These bodies would be much more resilient when mastered, less prone to “disease” as we know it, and certainly longer lived. But this will take some hundreds of thousands of years, if not millions for most folk. And certainly will require numerous changes, not the least of which will be a change of diet, from dense and blood-oriented fare, to more etheric and spiritual nourishment. Just as an individual can receive a quick advancement to probationary Arhatship, wizard hat-ship, or Maia, by selflessly sacrificing hir life for another, certainly one can take the long road of gradual weaning from the culture of blood sacrifice to acceptance of higher nourishment. Is it better to give one’s life for the higher spirit or live one’s life dedicated to it? (A Meta-question, not meant to be answered, except in your own considerations. You can speak to it if you so choose, of course.)

And it would be a great honor for us, certainly, to be your Chelas for life. But alas, as you must know, we are already spoken for. Zardoa wears a sorcerer’s cap given to him (metaphorically) by the Great Mother, Elbereth, which like the cap placed on Monkey by Quan Yin, in the Chinese tales, keeps him from getting up to too much mischief. And Silver Flame, well, she doesn’t seem to need any supervision. The Matreya, Manwe (?) in Tolkien, or one of hir associates, looks in on her from time to time, but mostly she is left to do what she does best, which is lovingly serve and nurture all she encounters.

Do write more on these and other esoteric subjects. You are hitting the mark.

Magic Talks: Being a Correspondence Between The Silver Elves and the Founders of The Elf Queen’s Daughters

Magic Talks is a collection of letters between the two sisters who are the founders of the Elf Queen’s Daughters (in 1973), Arwen and Elanor, and the Silver Elves, Zardoa and Silver Flame. This is the first book in a series of Tulku internet correspondence beginning in November of 2011 and ending in February 2012. Arwen and Elanor are also the original publishers of the “Magic Elf Letters” sent out from the Elf Queen’s daughters. They published three letters a week for about three years. In the early 1979 the Silver Elves carried on these letters calling them “The Magical Elven Love Letters” and continued writing and publishing them for the next 30 years, although on a much more whimsical schedule.There are a number of letters in Magic Talks discussing how Arwen and Elanor first started using the acute seven-pointed star as a symbol of the Elven people, passed on by Zardoa Silverstar, which has been adopted by elven and faerie folk all over the globe, and is called both the Elven Star and the Faerie Star (see sample of letter #20 below). The letters contained in Magic Talks cover a wide range of topics from Tolkien to Sorcery, from Esoteric Buddhism and the Supra-dimensional to Elven Magic.

… civilizations vast have come and gone and their numbers are beyond imagining, How many more will follow this fate until you and we have passed beyond all such considerations into those realms that pay as much heed to these worlds as we involve ourselves in the lives of ant colonies are too many to even speculate; but all of us, like children born destined to grow old, tread the path of evolutionary development, each in our own time and way, as best we can for where we are at the moment, and as you have so wisely observed it is best if upon casting our gaze on others that we know however inadequate they may seem to us that they are also doing the best they can. Still, if it wasn’t for the promptings of our inner selves and our beloved kindred urging us to greater spirit and soulfulness as well as inspiring us with their own mighty spirits we surely would be less than we are, and these elves are ever thankful for the inspiration and nurturing we have received from our beloved kin.

Letters No. 20 . . . . Origin of The Elven Seven- Pointed Star

THE SEVEN POINTED STAR, ZARDOA . . . .

. . . . goes way back. To say the least, it can always be found in various (from spikes at approximately 51 degrees to broadly spaced angular arrangements of the same) public police dept. stars, indicating civil authority. We were (cogently) drawn to the seven pointed star for more mystical reasons. Tibetan mysticism (very esoteric, if not absolutely cryptic), bases a great many treatises upon 7 rays and this proved extremely functional to our deeper studies.

Djwal Khul (an adept) was the primary source for a ‘TOLKU’ type transmission-vehicle used extensively by both Alice Bailey and Madam Blavatsky (1870 – 1950). He orchestrated the integration of Tibetan Esotericism with Western European-American- Occultism at the behest of his superiors (i.e., The Lodge Of Masters). Djwal Khul made use of a septette-arrangement consisting of 7 rays (i.e., assuming an unseen 8th or resolution of the octave) to great advantage (pedagogically speaking); hence, we envision a seven pointed star.

Of course, I loved the seven pointed star for several other outstanding reasons. These issues caught me up in a flash of intuition and perhaps, genuine ecstatic-rapture (of fairly reasonable proportions). I was only 28 – 35 years old and strangely given over to all such “magical” and/or “mystical”, swooning type of 1960’s antics but, I was also definitely impacted by “Lodge Of Masters” impressions, at that particular time. I really felt rather ‘captured’ by the guides that so kindly made themselves available to “little ole me”.

Discovering, to my own surprise, that the ‘angle of reflection’ of the Egyptian Pyramids was 51 degrees almost proved to be way

‘too much for me to handle’. I felt very akin (at that particular time, in the 70’s) to “The Brotherhood Of Luxor” and have continued a loose relationship with ‘The Nile River Adepts’ ever since then. A true pyramid could not function properly without those Egyptian “engineers” making use of the 51 degree (the seven pointed star configuration) coordinates for actual construction.

It is perfectly true that the seven pointed star is a bit difficult to construct but not if you have a simple protractor or a basic sense of geometry’s functions. Five points (5 pointed star) are said to represent the five senses, a man with arms, legs and a head; however, add two more points (for seven total) and the man indicates two wings to match his arms and legs with a head. An angelic evolution can be simultaneous envisioned with a human evolution, something all esotericists have been hinting at for 20,000 years.

That’s it, my Son. A great host perpetually hinting and whispering, successfully, to Paleolithic and eventually modern man; resulting in a set of primary symbols that can touch the soul as does poetry. 5 senses are cool but 7 lead to supra- dimensional awareness.

Thank you… Beloved Arwen,

… for the letter on the Seven-pointed Star. It was genuinely enlightening and we had not realized that the angle of the

pyramids was identical to that of the Elven Star. What a revelation.

About 15 or so years ago, Zardoa had a dream in which Princess Diana invited him to a huge mansion where she introduced him to Prince Charles who escorted him to the rooftop where a priest/wizard/druid was awaiting him. The druid told him to inscribe the inverted Elf Star in light in the air to channel the energy and power of Faerie into the material world and thus awaken it and the elves in this realm. Zardoa has been following this dream injunction periodically, when the time seems right, ever since.

As to our friend, mentor, and guide Djwal Khul we are indeed familiar with his works both through our studies with you in the Sorcery Group, our weekly studies with our old colleague “Pippin” that lasted over a decade, and our own studies earlier in our lives and incarnations when we had a long and intimate relationship with the Tibetan, at one point in a previous incarnation living with and under his tutelage from the esoteric and etheric realms of being. We, at some point, parted company with him under very friendly circumstances when we set forth to pursue and hopefully in time fulfill the mission offered to us and which we accepted. He remains in our hearts and fond memories. We still remember his rugged, lined but quite distinguished and handsome face which ever bore a quiet smile and eyes that gleamed with knowing and understanding. We remember the very day we parted company. We even apologized for leaving him, but he was silent, smiling at us as always and embracing us and patting our backs affectionately as we turned to go. Such ages ago, but it is still etched in our memories.

Then not long after that our elven kin found us wandering in the jungle that is the modern world and awakened us so our memories came flooding back and we remembered what it was

our hearts and souls had so eagerly and insistently been in search of.

Ancient Egypt, on the other hand, has never really called to us and we are certain that our paths tread elsewhere in the period. Of Babylon and Sumer do we sing, of ancient Akkadia and our Annunaki ancestors our thoughts go still, the Shining Ones, the Star Spirits, the hyper-dimensional beings that have fostered and nurtured us though space/time. But that we are cousins to the Egyptians, brother/sister of that Lodge of Initiates through the Greater Frasority that lives among the Stars, is very clear.

And now, after all this time, we are here on the very cusp of a New Age where humanity will rise or fall, either to yield to the new ones being born from them or resist unto death in an obstinate refusal to change. Either way, we will depart this life knowing we have done our best, and for those of us on this path, what more is there to say? Sometimes at night a faerie sits below and just a bit away from our window and sings in such a lovely voice, not to us specifically, but to the night and stars, and we think again of how very blessed we have been.

May starlight filter through your dreams and sing to you of Faerie.

Introduction

In 1974, a pair of sisters—Arwen and Elanor—calling thems’elves the Elf Queen’s Daughters (EQD) emerged upon the Pagan/Wiccan scene. They wrote fascinating esoteric letters of elven lore and philosophy that, when they really got going, were sent out in a groups of three every week. At their height, they had over 300 addresses around the United States with a few being sent to Spain and France. Within months of their first publication, other kindred joined the sisters and established vortexes around the U.S. where those interested, who had heard the Call, could write to awakened elves. There was also a vortex in France (more on this in Book 2).

Among these vortexes was the Elves of the Southern Woodlands in Carbondale, Illinois, established by Zardoa as a member of the EQD and who would, some years later in 1979, after the sisters ceased writing them, take on the Dharma of creating the elf letters (first in Florida under the name the Sylvan Elves and later in California as The Silver Elves). Silver Flame, his faithful sister-lover companion, joined him and they’ve been pursuing the Dharma ever since.

This is Book 1 of a compilation of the original letters of the Elf Queen’s Daughters. Some of these letters appeared in the earliest version of the “Green Egg Magazine”. The sisters knew many folk in the Pagan/Wiccan community including Oberon and Morning Glory Zell Ravenheart who published that magazine, as well as Z Budapest, the author of The Grandmother of Time (our friend Sumi painted the cover art for that book), and Alison Harlow who was a founding member of the Covenant of the Goddess, as well as the founder of the “Vanthi” line of Feri witchcraft, a co-founder with Gwydion Penderrwen (with whom these elves used to correspond, having been introduced by the sisters) of “Nemeton” an early pagan magazine, and a co-founder with Oberon and Morning Glory Zell-Ravenheart of the Holy Order of Mother Earth.

Then in mid 1977 the EQD letters suddenly stopped. The sisters withdrew into seclusion and pursued their esoteric studies mostly in private. However, Zardoa stayed in touch with them and they have remained friends and accomplices ever since. Four of our books are actually a personal and magical correspondence between Zardoa and Silver Flame of the Silver Elves and Arwen and Elanor, who had founded the Elf Queen’s Daughters. This correspondence took place in 2011-2012. These books are Magic Talks, Sorcerer’s Dialogues, Discourses on High Sorcery, and Ruminations of Necromancy.

There are certain common features to most of the original letters of the Elf Magic Mail. Besides the intriguing esoteric elven philosophy, there is almost always a photo or graphic, and a glyph that is a combination of the symbols for Venus and Mars often with the Yin/Yang symbol within it; this done in hundreds of variations. There is also frequently the seven-pointed elf star that is today quite often referred to as the faerie star and adorns the covers of a number of books, including Faery Craft by Emily Carding, and is found on websites about elves and faeries all over the globe. This may be the sisters’ most enduring gift to elfin (they spelled it elfan, sometimes elfen) kind. A gift we Silver Elves passed on in our letters and which was taken up by elves and faeries all around the world.

“Title: The Primordial Egg”

“THERE ARE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF MATTERS, SISTERS …. to hold opinions about, and ten thousand more to express our attitudes about, and more and more to ponder about in the future as well as millions of lost opinions and view-points to recollect and dwell upon relating to our pasts. They weave about us, and we learn to call them ourselves. Astute politicians and the genius-executives that manipulate most of what we once held sacred wield mental power over the people of our disenchanted America that dwarfs the physical power once held by Kings and emotional power held by their courtesans.

It is foolish to believe that you’ve escaped enculturation. It is even more foolish to seriously attempt to do any thing about it. We are programmed sisters, and almost all of us can only re-program ourselves with bizarre “programming” seemingly our own, yet mostly “borrowed” from India or China or even Romantic-Western-America. It appears to the elven sisters, that it’s only the seriousness that really endangers both our security and our freedom. If we can singularly and mutually “face” the utter ridiculousness of our real predicament and almost eternal bondage to the illusions so artfully created for endless distraction, we may begin the long and perilous journey into and out-of fear.

And yet, sisters, we pass through normal and elven America and find so very much opinion about everything imaginable. The warm smiles are what counts, sisters; it is the elven smile that makes for a new day, and the elven chatter as well as the elven letters we all have grown to love are not a real part of our mutual liberation. Only a real human smile has the magic and true enchantment necessary to attack with love (in elven style) the almost ageless human preoccupation with deception. Would that people only attempted to deceive folk other than themselves.

We find sisters everywhere that would learn the magic. They find their elven natures to be more than just “surface” qualities; they feel they’ve found something recognizable in their real kinship with the elven sisterhood. We pray and call upon She Who Dreams to guide them past all of this and into and out-of what men call real. There is no substitute for self-knowledge. So very few spend the time to find out who they really are. The unseen realms of mind and reality are so very devastating to those who know so little about themselves, their motives, their sexual needs and desires, the “nitty-gritty” stuff that wizzards [sic] expose to the light of day on only one or two days in a single year. And Alchemy, and astrology, and all the “heavy “ stuff, what is it all about, beloved .. what is it all about?

Let us firstly make arrangements for our mutual evolution and growth from a disenchanted folk alienated primarily from ourselves .. into a real people who not only know themselves but know themselves relative to their real environment. 
It’s the Space that Counts.”

”Here the sisters make very clear that our true elven magic is not ceremonial magic or the waving of wands, nor even attempts to manipulate the world but the magic of a simple smile, a bit of kindness in a world that very much needs it. This goes along with Tolkien’s idea, as expressed in his article On Fairy-Stories found in Tree and Leaf, that faerie magic is not the labored magic of worldly magicians. While this magic may be less demonstrative and flashy than the magic of movies and books, it is far more powerful really for all its subtlety and far more enduring. It helped change our lives and endures still in the hearts of these elves.”
