Want An Elf Name Gifted by The Silver Elves?
We Silver Elves have been gifting elf names for decades, now over 6,000 names, in our beautiful magical elven language, Arvyndase!

tiny_green_7star

Would you like an elf name? We do not charge for this service. We would be happy to give you one but we need to first find out a little about who you are and what your interests are. By learning more about you, we can select an elven name for you that fits you spiritually and magically. Please email us (silverelves@live.com) with your request and put “request for elf name” in the subject line. Here are a few suggestions of questions you might answer to tell us about yourself and help us pick a name that is just right for you:

1. Do you have an elfin name already or otherkin name? If so what is it?

2. How did you come to awaken/realize that you were “other” and what is your brief history of your “elfin” life in this lifetime? What sort of elf, fae, or otherkin are you? If you don’t know, what do you feel? (If you don’t write at least a paragraph on this we may not know enough to give you a name!)

3. Do you have a preference for a masculine or feminine name?

Once we receive your email, we will email you back (usually within a couple of weeks) and give you your new elf name, pronunciation, and magical meaning of the name.

Also, while you don’t have to tell us, we’d love to know what city, state, country you are writing from. This is strictly for our own personal interest. We’ve had requests over the years from places as far flung as Russia, Brazil, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, India, Japan, Israel and Croatia and all of Western Europe.

And if you are still having questions about your kin type, you may wish to check out our questionnaire on  What Kind of Elf, Fae, or Otherkin Are You? The Silver Elves will help you discover your true tribe and gift you a magical narrative based on your questionnaire. Click here to read more.

Also, if you would like to read about our Silver Elves book we have published on Amazon that contains a dictionary of 5.600 of the elf names we have already gifted people over the years, please click here.

Arvyndase is a complete elven language! This book contains a short course in using  Arvyndase, which means SilverSpeech, a 30,000+ word language created by the Silver Elves. There are nine chapters in the book with 30 lessons in each chapter or 270 lessons altogether. The book uses a process of word substitution to gradually introduce the student to the use of the language while it speaks about the language itself, its creation, and the philosophy of the Elves. It is a language primarily created to be used in magic spells, rituals, and incantations. This book also includes a chapter of spells in Arvyndase, three scripts for use with the language, and a small dictionary of words used in the book for easy reference. This book will tell you about how the language is formed, prefixes and suffixes used, and other aspects of the language. It also contains many observations about elven magic and philosophy.
Arvyndase was created primarily to use with magic so elfin magicians, wizards, enchanters, sorcerers and other magic wielders could create and chant their spells in a magical language. This is why the last chapter in the book contains 30 invocations that can be fitted into magical rituals. Also in the appendices you will find three scripts, Arvyndase, Sylvyn and Wizard’s Script that we created to be used with the language.

What Does the Elven Word “Kyela” Mean in Arvyndase, the Language of the Silver Elves?

July 24, 2019

Blessings1744

We Silver Elves often use the Arvyndase word Kyêla (key – L – lah) as a parting salutation for our emails, much in the way one would write ‘love’ or ‘sincerely’ at the end of the letter before signing their name. In our case, we frequently sign our letter The Silver Elves, rather than giving our personal names, as for instance if we wrote Zardoa for the Silver Elves or Silver Flame for the Silver Elves, etc. as is common practice among many folks. This leads some people to mistakenly believe that Kyêla is, in fact, one of our names, which, as it happens, it is, although it is not one of our given names but, in fact, the Arvyndase version of our surname ‘Love.’ For Kyêla means love, although it means love in an affectionate and potentially romantic way. For the elves, romance is always in the air.

As it happens there are at least six words, including Kyêla, that mean ‘love’ in our elven language Arvyndase (or Silverspeech). Like the ancient Greeks, we see love in a variety of ways and have different words for variations of love’s manifestations. Besides Kyêla, there is Jålar (pronounced jah – lair) which means love in a divine fashion in which one feels a unity with the all of life. There is feas (fee – ace) which is love used in a fashion similar to the word ‘like’ and usually applied to non-beings, such as when one says I really love (feas) the Lord of the Rings books. And it is used in much the same way as it is an English as an emphasis for one’s feeling of liking something.

There is also the Arvyndase word ‘ford,’ which is pronounced as it is in English, which means the love that one has for one’s soulmate, family member or best friend. It is similar in some ways to the difference in the singular use of the words tu and vous (both meaning you) in French, with tu being less formal than vous. Here, ford is a less formal sort of love and indicates friends, family or loved ones, one can relax around.

There is also the word ‘feln’ (pronounced feel-n) that denotes that special feeling of kinship and intimacy that elves feel for each other. It, of course, could be extended to fae folk in general, and also be used by others to mean the special feeling that exists among members of their particular group.

And there is ‘rynt’ (rent) that is used to indicate the concept of love overall in all of its forms. One could ask, for instance, What is your definition of rynt (love)? Or when people sometimes say, “I don’t believe in rynt (love),” although usually when saying this they really mean, “I don’t believe in kyêla or romantic love.”

When we first conceived the word Kyela, we thought about spelling it keyla, which in Arvyndase would be equally acceptable and would still be pronounced the same way. However, we realized right away that people unfamiliar with Arvyndase would pronounce it key – lah, if we spelled it that way and we didn’t wish that. In fact, in Arvyndase a ‘y’ sometimes takes on the sound of the vowel or consonant following it. So the ‘y’ in kyela, is pronounced like a long ‘e’. However, the ‘e’ after it has an accent upon it and becomes like the ‘e’ in dell. Otherwise, it would be key – eel – lah.

At the same time, you probably noticed in the above paragraph that we didn’t put the accent upon it, which should be a single dot and not a circumflex as here, however our computer doesn’t have a special character with a dot over the ‘e’ thus we make do. And, since it is inconvenient to put that dot or circumflex over the ‘e’ in kyêla every time we use it, we sometimes let it slide, since we know how to pronounce it.

And that’s the thing about Arvyndase as a language and really, in fact, most languages. There is a certain flexibility in their use. There are regional accents and various ways of pronouncing words. Just as the word Pho, that is usually the first part of the name of Vietnamese restaurants, isn’t pronounced pho, like in phone, but rather fah or foo, like in foot without the ‘t,’ depending upon the region in Vietnam where the individual haled from.

And we expect that if Arvyndase ever was adapted for wider use as an elven language  than our own use of it mainly as a language of magic, spellcasting and enchantment, the same would occur for it. For we elves are an adaptable folk, and we do our best to adjust to all situations, while subtly radiating our own magic and influence within them, moving them, as best we may, toward a successful conclusion for everyone.
