Do elves interact with Genii Loci?

October 27, 2017

Z_MagicTreeBlog
“…these elves are ever aware that we live in relationship to and in association with the spirit of the place where we currently abide and which forms the living body of our realm of Elfin that we call Eldafaryn.”

The Ancient Romans believed in and interacted with Genii Loci (plural), or Genius Loci (singular), the abiding and protective spirit of a place. This belief, however, was not exclusive to the Romans and was a widespread understanding that still exists today in the form of the idea of “haunted houses” and restaurants or other places having a particular ambience or spirit.

Elves and fae folk in general have long been associated with various wild places and in particular seen as protective spirits of certain forests, streams and springs. This is not entirely different from the idea that faeries are often protectors or caretakers of flowers or other growing things. And that we fae folk could with a wave of our hand either bless or blight livestock or crops. This idea was extended, as elves and fair folk in general were increasingly seen as elements of fantasy, to witches and their ability to bless or ruin crops. And during the inquisition, one of the many accusations about a particular woman accused of witchcraft was that her neighbor’s crops failed or their cattle fell ill.

For our own part, these elves relate to the various spirits of whatever place we may be. We typically greet the trees each day as we see them, often bidding hello to the Faerie realms through them, saying, “Good morning, Faerie,” or well, not morning, we are seldom up for morning, but surely, “Good afternoon, Faerie,” or “Good Evening.” We also greet the birds and the other creatures we may encounter. When we used to live out in Makaha (often referred to here on O’ahu as the Wild West) in a valley between two mountains, we’d greet the mountains each day. However, these were old mountains, formed from volcanic ash, and every six months to a year someone would go climbing on them and fall to hir death, thus voluntarily offering their lifeblood to these ancient spirits.

There might be a tendency for many people to picture the spirit of a mountain as being separate from the mountain, and in the sense that we are spirits that live in humanoid elven bodies but are not those bodies, this is true for those spirits as well. At the same time, the mountain is the spirit in the same sense that our bodies are a vibrational manifestation of our spirits and while we might be separated from each other, and surely will in time, while we inhabit these bodies we are one. (See our book Eldafaryn: True Tales of Magic from the Lives of the Silver Elves.)

Thus these elves are ever aware that we live in relationship to and in association with the spirit of the place where we currently abide and which forms the living body of our realm of Elfin that we call Eldafaryn. We also, when we go traveling, carry stones that we’ve painted sigils upon and instilled with magic to leave as gifts for the genii loci of the various realms we are passing through. It is, after all, from an elven point of view only courteous to bring gifts when visiting others. Hoping in this way to gain the friendship and blessing of the spirits of those realms.

We are, of course, animists seeing the life in all things, just as the physicist understands that everything is composted of atoms and energy, we understand that everything is indeed alive with its own vibration, nature, experience and inclinations. As elves, we ever seek to be on friendly terms as much as possible with everyone.

Eldafaryn: True Tales of Magic from the Lives of the Silver Elves

Eldafaryn (Elf Haven) contains a series of vignettes from the lives of the Silver Elves starting in the present and going back and forth through time describing their lives, their magic, their philosophy and their unique view of the world. If you’ve ever wanted to see Elfland from the inside, as the elves view and live it, here’s your chance.
These are true stories of elfin magic from the lives of the Silver Elves. They are as complete as our memories and confidences allow. There are things we cannot tell you, some secrets we cannot reveal, but what we do tell you is true. The book begins with the latest relocation of our Eald (magical home/realm) and the energizing thereof, and proceeds to reflections from former Ealds and magical events and people in our lives in the past and present. We hope you enjoy it.

We also invite you to read about and read sample chapters of our other 39 books on elfin magic and enchantment and the Elven Way. You may also read what other readers have said about our books on each individual book page.

What is the Difference Between Elves and Witches?

October 7, 2017

Rocks_MagicTableColorBlog
“….while elves can be witches, not all elves are witches
and surely not all witches are elves.”

We Silver Elves and our sisters of the Elf Queen’s Daughters of old always felt very close to witches and in fact the Elf Queen’s Daughters declared on a number of occasions that they were elven witches and this was surely true. They felt a close association with the witchcraft movement of that time (mid 1970s) and were very close with Oberon Zell Ravenheart and Morning Glory of the Church of All Worlds. They were also friends with Alison Harlow of the Covenant of the Goddess, Zee Budapest of the Dianic Movement and other prominent witches of that period. In fact, all of the above were featured on various of the letters of the Elf Magic Mail, which the EQD sent out each week, three letters (the amount you could send for one postage stamp) for over a year.

We Silver Elves also knew all of the above individuals, although we only ever meet Zee Budapest in passing. On the other hand we had spent times in several of the homes of Oberon and Morning Glory and Alison Harlow and in fact our friend Valerie Voight wrote a wonderful letter of recommendation for us to join the Covenant of the Goddess but as it turned out we didn’t pursue that, our path leading us elsewhere.

But while elves generally feel a kinship with witches, we also feel a link to nearly all magical practitioners. There are elven wizards, conjurors, mages, curanderos (magical healers), sorcerers, shamans, diviners and magicians. But, of course, we are particularly enchanters (see our book The Keys to Elven Enchantment) for enchantment is the main and primary magic of the elven and always has been both in lore and tradition and in reality.

In later years (we’ve know them for over forty years), the founders of the Elf Queen’s Daughters and the inner sisterhood tended toward Sorcery in their magic interest and practice but we Silver Elves still pursue enchantment as our primary magic. But the choice of what magic to do, as with nearly everything else concerning elves, is up to the individual elf and hir own spirit and soul. If the elf lets hir natural attractions guide hir, she is bound to find in time the magic that is perfect for hir.

So while elves can be witches, not all elves are witches and surely not all witches are elves. We did meet a woman one time who came to us for guidance and lessons on the magical path, who claimed that she was of witchbreed, that is to say born to be a witch. But even if that is so, and we don’t doubt her, it is still a matter of choice. She pursued witchcraft because she loved and was attracted to it and choose to do so. Of course, one could argue that she was born to love witchcraft, that it is in her blood but still the choice of acting upon it is hers. Without that choice, without that decision to act, there is no true magic. If we are compelled to do magic and have no choice in the matter then we are not magicians but puppets to someone else’s magic. Choose wisely, beloved.

What’s the Difference Between Elves and Pagans? Do the Silver Elves Follow an Elven Faith?

October 7, 2017

 elfmagic copyjpg
“We elves get along quite well with Pagans for the most part….But these elves are not inclined to worship any gods and while religion is a personal choice of every elf, we expect that most elves, while having a fondness for this or that god or goddess, don’t tend to involve thems’elves in worship….”

Some dictionaries will tell you that pagans are simply hedonistic folks. Others may tell you that pagan is a term for anyone who doesn’t follow one of the main religions, while will describe paganism as polytheism. And this is the reality really that pagans merely follow a multiplicity of gods or goddess or in choosing a particular one to relate to acknowledge that there are others that one can worship as well. Although, our ancestors while being tolerant of other gods on their own pantheon were not always so open minded about those of other pantheons. And these elves have found that many of the pagans we’ve encountered are quite a bit on the hedonistic side of things.

Hinduism is one of the main forms of paganism in the world, tolerating a variety of godheads and beings. It should be noted that early Judaism was also a polytheistic religion but moved toward monotheism, the realm of the exclusive and jealous one god, as did the Egyptians. And it is quite possible that it was because of their sojourn in Egypt that the Hebrews gave up their many gods. Elohim being a plural noun.

Of course, when most of us in the Western world talk about Paganism we are referring to a paganism that has taken up the abandoned and often destroyed religions and gods and goddesses of our own pagan ancestors before Christianity came and both persuaded and forced itself upon them, like a suitor who when charm doesn’t work resorts to rape. The Paganism that most folks in the Western world practice has a lot of magic in it usually and is often akin, although different from, Witchcraft. Wicca is often seen as a combination of these two, which is to say it is sometimes used to indicate pagans who practice witchcraft or magic. Although you will surely find some who would argue with those definitions, but then you will find people who will argue with about anything. Still, for the purposes of this particular blog, these are the definitions we will go by.

We have attended a number of pagan gatherings in our time, although according to the above definitions they were really primarily Wicca gatherings for there was always a bit of magic and witchcraft going on at them. We elves get along quite well with pagans for the most part, both Western pagans and the Hindu one’s we’ve known (we’ve been to some of their gatherings as well). But these elves are not inclined to worship any gods and while religion is a personal choice of every elf, we expect that most elves, while having a fondness for this or that god or goddess, don’t tend to involve thems’elves in worship, although we will attend their services if there’s free food involved at some point, and we certainly always enjoy dancing with them in communication with the beauty of nature.

While the Elven Way is the spiritual Path of the Elves and one we have been following for over 40 years, it is not a religion and all elves are free to pursue whatever spiritual path they desire, or not as the case may be. We Silver Elves are magicians and follow no particular religious dogma and understand the world as a magical or miraculous phenomena, and that all beings, by pursuing their own true path, will become whomever they truly desire to be. The path of the Silver Elves is that of Love and Magic.

And though the Elven Way is not a religion, one could say that we follow an “Elven Faith” that is similar to the original “Faerie Faith” before it became more like a Pagan tradition, but with our own beliefs and nature spirits and impromptu rituals. We do not worship any gods or goddesses, but we do believe in them as real energies and we have respect for all Higher Beings. Although we Silver Elves do not follow Pagan traditions and ceremonies, we instead (and we do not speak for all elves as we are a varied magical people) tend to evoke Elven spirits of nature (see our An Elfin Book of Spirits: Evoking the Beneficent Powers of Faerie) and the Elven elementals (see our book The Elements of Elven Magic: A New View of Calling the Elementals Based Upon the Periodic Table of Elements) as helpers/partners in our magic for healing and enchantment, rather than worshiping elven gods/goddesses, even those gods and goddesses who some attest to have been part of our elven heritage from ancient days. It seems to us that any elf awakened to being an elf would have no reason to worship another elf (although elves are free to do so if they wish), for an awakened elf understands that all elves are part of the Divine Magic. From our elven point of view, if in history elves where worshiped (for instance by the ancient Celts who were said to be weary of the supernatural power of the Tuatha Dé Danann, the people of the goddess Danu and some say the god Anu), it was not by elves but by those who had an association with elves and respected and feared them.

Elves and magic are like bread and butter, we just naturally go together. Actually, we’re even closer than that, for magic is to elves as close to us as our pointed ears, and perhaps to many even more so. While we don’t always have pointed ears we do always have magic! Thus we have a natural association with witches, witchcraft and magic in all its forms. And while we don’t involve ours’elves in wicked magics, we do know of them, have studied them and understand that we have a natural kinship with the Unseelie Fae even if we don’t, or hardly ever, agree or pursue the same paths. They are our kin, even if they are like the type of kin who come to the family dinner and spout racism and prejudice and whom you tolerate because, well, like or not, you’re related. Just in the same sense that Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader are related but use the Force in different ways. There is ever a hope in our hearts that we might redeem them and ever a hunger in theirs to seduce and corrupt us to the dark side. After all, what are relatives for but to work to give us a balance in our lives?

Our next blog will explore another question we are often asked, “What’s the difference between elves and witches?”

The Elements of Elven Magic: A New View of Calling the Elementals
Based Upon the Periodic Table of Elements

THE ELEMENTS OF ELVEN MAGIC: A New View of Calling the Elementals Based Upon the Periodic Table of Elements is a book to use for summoning and evoking elements to help you in your life and magic. Taking a new look at the idea of the elements and the elementals, the Silver Elves have once again merged the reality of Science, which is Nature, and Occult tradition and have introduced the elements of Earth, Fire, Air and Water into the modern age of the Periodic Table of Elements. It is a new and original view of the Ways of the Ancients as expected of the Elves. The Silver Elves present for your consideration a new and elven way at pursuing the magical art of evocation of the Elements and the Elementals. Their wish is that it serves you well and hopefully evokes your own imagination and stirs your particular and individual style of magic.

THE CIRCLE OF MAGIC . . . .

What we did in the past
In the present is found.

And spells we do now
In the future unfold

So choose with great care
The choices you make
For all you will give
Is all you did take.

And all that you gift
Will be your return

What is the Rainbow Magic that the Silver Elves Often Speak About?

October 1, 2017

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
“Rainbow Magic is really the magic of the rainbow people,
which is to say all the Elfae (elven faerie folk) and
others that work together to create a better situation for all of us.”
Photo of magical double rainbow taken
by The Silver Elves in Makaha, Hawaii, near their Eald.

According to a Hopi Prophecy, the Rainbow People will come and save the peoples of the Earth. The Earth, itself, according to the elves, doesn’t need saving. It is humanity and the other creatures upon it that are truly in danger from man-unkinds’ and others’ predations. The Earth will do quite well without humanity. But we elves and fae folk would rather not have it that way. We’d much rather harmonize with Nature and find/create a place where all peoples, human and otherwise, may be successful.

Thus Rainbow Magic is really the magic of the Rainbow People, which is to say all the Elfae (elven faerie folk) and others that work together to create a better situation for all of us. A true elven civilization upon the Earth. A place where everyone is free to express hir own s’elf and hir own nature as long as they don’t interfere with others. This idea of the Rainbow People, the combined elven and fae folk along with all others, is essentially an Aquarian notion and befits the Aquarian Age that is still in the process of birthing. It is, as we’ve said elsewhere, the essential idea that we can all do our own thing together. It puts forth the notion that win-win situations are not only possible but preferable and that we are able not only agree to disagree but we can also agree to let each other, as much as possible, pursue our own interests and development. There is room in Elfin for all sincere and willing folk that chose to be there.

These may seem in some ways like new ideas (some folks might even fluff them off as New Age, a term that is held in scorn by numerous folks, although these elves have never been precisely clear about why they do so, nor has anyone been able to tell us) but like the Hopi Prophecy and the notion of the Aquarian Age, these are actually something that have been handed down to us from the Ancestors. They foresaw our coming and rejoiced in the fact that it was so, as we rejoice and take heart in those who are yet to come.

Another way to look at this, however, is in the Seven Rays of Manifestation, which are each accorded a color associated with the Rainbow. The three primary colors being the first three rays and the blending of those colors (the secondary colors) being the last three rays and the fourth, by its nature, being a place of synthesis. For our own part we see the fourth ray as being of the tonal scale, thus white to black with all the grays in between, and thus also silver. We elves particularly associate with this ray, although any individual elf may have another ray as hir dominant propensity.

But this brings us back to the Rainbow Magic and the fact that there is a blending occurring. Elves, while we tend to be, first and foremost, enchanters, are also wizards, witches, sorcerers, magicians, conjurors and healers, herbalists, shamans, and every other sort of magician that uses hir magic to manifest Elfin in a bright and positive way that is fulfilling and healing for all involved. This is the Rainbow Magic, uniting our powers to create something truly wondrous for everyone, a world of shining radiance where love rules, magic illuminates, and we dance together in joy forever in a world brilliant with color.

Elven Blessings!

September 28, 2017th: The Silver Elves are happy to introduce our newest book release:
Creating Miracles In the Modern World: The Way Of the Elfin Thaumaturge

Creating_miraclesBookcover

Creating Miracles In the Modern World is a book of Elfin Thaumaturgy, of miracle working and wonder creation, although for these elves we much prefer the idea of wonder working and creation to the idea of miracles. We love wonders. We love creating them; we love encountering them. This simple tome will explore the means by which we may do so. By which we mean not only creating the wondrous but also developing our ability to see and appreciate the wonders that are all around us. These things are tied together. The ability to see wonders promotes the creation of wonders.
Some have written in popular books that there is no such thing as magic. We wonder then what they think miracles are if not magic. Of course, what they mean is that human beings are incapable of magic and that only the Divine, which they perceive of in the form of the Christian demi-god and his retinue, can do magic, which is to say create miracles. We elves, naturally, disagree. We are elves; we are magic by our very natures. We don’t so much have to do magic; we are magic. We exude magic from our pores. Our every movement is magic. Magic is an effect of our being.
Creating Miracles In the Modern World shows you, whoever you are—whether you are an elf or Otherkin or consider yourself a member of normal humanity—that the more we develop our own inner divine nature, the more wondrous we become, and therefore in consequence the more we are able to recognize the subtle wonders of the world and the Universe. Thus, s’elf development is ever a part of the progress of the elfin magician who seeks, first and foremost, to master hir (his/her) own s’elf in order to have influence upon the world at large and not the other way around. For mastery of ones’elf (also called s’elf discipline) is, in fact, a most wondrous thing creating awe in those who observe it, inspiring them with possibility. And possibility, which is the true nature of the Divine Magic, is at the root of the miraculous and the wondrous. Every wondrous thing flows from its being that expresses itself through us. Thus it is that in the act of sub-creation and in some cases, perhaps, co-creation, we, like the Divine Magic itself, do manifest wonders.

Radiant and fair
But most wondrous of all
Is the love we elven share.”

Is the Elven Way a Religion?

June 25, 2017

Blessings6 copy

The path of the elven is not religious in any way but is rather a spiritual quest of the individual’s effort toward the development of each one’s own s’elf and soul, which is to say one’s connection to the rest of the Universe and the Divine Magic from which all things spring. In other words, the miraculous nature of our existence.

None-the-less, many folks upon discovering that we are elves jump to the conclusion that we must be a cult of some kind. This is particularly so when we have an elven community no matter how large or small.

This assumption is, of course, understandable because quite often when individuals in modern society encounter a group with strong philosophical, spiritual or religious beliefs they are part of a cult. But at the same time, this jumping to the conclusion that we elves, individually or collectively, are part of a cult is really just laziness on their part, an unwillingness to actually discover what we are about. However, that just tells us that they are not elven or not ready to relinquish their enculturated social views enough to truly examine their selves or us and that we simply have to respect. You can’t drag people kicking and screaming into Elfin. The results would be unsatisfactory for them as well as us. All we can really do is understand their reluctance and hesitation. Nurture them as best we may and, in most cases, move farther and further along our own path and leave them to theirs as best they can understand it. If fate or destiny should bring us together again, we will sprinkle another touch of stardust upon them (without them realizing it ever happened) and await the fulfillment of the magic.

Could there be an elven cult?

Cults are almost always centered around a charismatic personality, an inspiring leader and we elves are not immune to such personalities. In fact, being charismatic is nearly a description of elves in general, and we surely find such individuals intriguing. Even when we are introverts, we tend to have a certain charisma about us, although the fact that we are magical folk and radiate elfin/faerie magic often means that people are both attracted and repelled by us, which is to say they find us fascinating, when in fact they are able to see us at all, while being uncertain about us, until they actually get to know us. This is especially true of those who are paranoid and suspicious anyway and prone to superstition.

For our own part, while we enjoy charismatic folks, are in fact fascinated by geniuses of various sorts, and surely would find a powerful elfin figure enchanting, we are seldom fooled for long. If that individual is really all about hir own s’elf and fails to foster the individuality in the kindred, we would soon fade from hir, just as sHe (she/he) in centering everything on hir own s’elf instead of nurturing the elves around hir would become more and more distanced from Elfin and the source of elfin magic.

Some of us, perhaps most of us, may be fooled for a short while, but only a very few will be taken in for a long period and those we expect have some karmic duty to fulfill in doing so, some inner need of their own as well as a need to serve the charismatic other, whom we assume and hope in time will overcome hir own inner emptiness and begin to accomplish the task of encouraging our beloved fae folk, which, after all, is the true purpose of such power.

So, while cults may develop among the elven, they are unlikely to last very long, we are simply too eccentric, unique and diverse as individuals for it to be otherwise.

Finding Kindred

March 28, 2017

Certainly the question we get asked the most, usually by those who are newly exploring their elven nature, is where to find one’s kindred elfae and how to connect with them. Alas, while we say, and quite accurately, that this is a question most asked by the newly awakened, it is unfortunately a problem that confronts most elves no matter how long they have been awakened or how evolved as elfin they may be. The only difference is that those who have been awakened for a good deal of time have usually found one or two elves that they can associate with regularly, although the difficulty with finding new kindred remains the same.

The fact is that in this day and age elves are few and far between. Going to faerie and elf fests or pagan festivals, for those can do that and many of us cannot afford to do this or do it often, is a means for connecting with others of our kind; the smaller the festival, in fact, in most cases, the better. And social media is another way to connect, but for these elves most of our relationships have come via destiny and our own elf work, which is to say the creative activity, in our case writing the Magical Elven Love Letters and other of our books and sharing them as much as we are able. Thus our advice to those seeking other elves or fae is to create some form of elven art/writing/music and share it as widely as possible.

Magic Talks: Being a Correspondence Between The Silver Elves and the Founders of The Elf Queen’s Daughters

July 25, 2016

Magic Talks is a collection of letters between the two sisters who are the founders of the Elf Queen’s Daughters (in 1973), Arwen and Elanor, and the Silver Elves, Zardoa and Silver Flame. This is the first book in a series of Tulku internet correspondence beginning in November of 2011 and ending in February 2012. Arwen and Elanor are also the original publishers of the “Magic Elf Letters” sent out from the Elf Queen’s daughters. They published three letters a week for about three years. In the early 1979 the Silver Elves carried on these letters calling them “The Magical Elven Love Letters” and continued writing and publishing them for the next 30 years, although on a much more whimsical schedule. There are a number of letters in Magic Talks discussing how Arwen and Elanor first started using the acute seven-pointed star as a symbol of the Elven people, passed on by Zardoa Silverstar, which has been adopted by elven and faerie folk all over the globe, and is called both the Elven Star and the Faerie Star (see sample of letter #20 below). The letters contained in Magic Talks cover a wide range of topics from Tolkien to Sorcery, from Esoteric Buddhism and the Supra-dimensional to Elven Magic.

MANY CULTURES HAVE ARISEN, NEFFIE AND ZARDOA . . . .

. . . . through out the passing ages. Tens of thousands of years come to a peak in a visionary now-ness, allowing for insight- hindsight. The sage can gaze forward and backwards, making hope possible for the people. We share our revelations and before you know it, another culture is born.

Sometimes we think: counter-culture or cultural evolution or even enculturation itself are all nothing but one vast concept. This kind of thinking defies true reason. However, it is the way

most people generally choose to think. Ancient teachers reveal to us a perspective of long lost and forgotten cultures. Some few were once superior to those that are presently known to us. Every culture has a birth, middle age of achievement and finally, its slow period of decrepitude and death.

Eventually conquered, cities were usually set to fire, with all the remaining inhabitants sold into slavery. A rare number of these archaic cultures remain in the AKASHA. Only our finest imaginings break through to attain a glimpse of the eternal record of everything that came before us, all that is ‘written in the “stardust” of the AKASHIC RECORD’ . . .

(Reply from the Silver Elves to letter #1 from Arwen and Elanor)

In the long ages of the Stars… beloved,

… civilizations vast have come and gone and their numbers are beyond imagining, How many more will follow this fate until you and we have passed beyond all such considerations into those realms that pay as much heed to these worlds as we involve ourselves in the lives of ant colonies are too many to even speculate; but all of us, like children born destined to grow old, tread the path of evolutionary development, each in our own time and way, as best we can for where we are at the moment, and as you have so wisely observed it is best if upon casting our gaze on others that we know however inadequate they may seem to us that they are also doing the best they can. Still, if it wasn’t for the promptings of our inner selves and our beloved kindred urging us to greater spirit and soulfulness as well as inspiring us with their own mighty spirits we surely would be less than we are, and these elves are ever thankful for the inspiration and nurturing we have received from our beloved kin.

Give our love to all there, Zardoa and Neffie [Silver Flame]

Letters No. 20 . . . . Origin of The Elven Seven- Pointed Star

THE SEVEN POINTED STAR, ZARDOA . . . .

. . . . goes way back. To say the least, it can always be found in various (from spikes at approximately 51 degrees to broadly spaced angular arrangements of the same) public police dept. stars, indicating civil authority. We were (cogently) drawn to the seven pointed star for more mystical reasons. Tibetan mysticism (very esoteric, if not absolutely cryptic), bases a great many treatises upon 7 rays and this proved extremely functional to our deeper studies.

Djwal Khul (an adept) was the primary source for a ‘TOLKU’ type transmission-vehicle used extensively by both Alice Bailey and Madam Blavatsky (1870 – 1950). He orchestrated the integration of Tibetan Esotericism with Western European-American- Occultism at the behest of his superiors (i.e., The Lodge Of Masters). Djwal Khul made use of a septette-arrangement consisting of 7 rays (i.e., assuming an unseen 8th or resolution of the octave) to great advantage (pedagogically speaking); hence, we envision a seven pointed star.

Of course, I loved the seven pointed star for several other outstanding reasons. These issues caught me up in a flash of intuition and perhaps, genuine ecstatic-rapture (of fairly reasonable proportions). I was only 28 – 35 years old and strangely given over to all such “magical” and/or “mystical”, swooning type of 1960’s antics but, I was also definitely impacted by “Lodge Of Masters” impressions, at that particular time. I really felt rather ‘captured’ by the guides that so kindly made themselves available to “little ole me”.

Discovering, to my own surprise, that the ‘angle of reflection’ of the Egyptian Pyramids was 51 degrees almost proved to be way

‘too much for me to handle’. I felt very akin (at that particular time, in the 70’s) to “The Brotherhood Of Luxor” and have continued a loose relationship with ‘The Nile River Adepts’ ever since then. A true pyramid could not function properly without those Egyptian “engineers” making use of the 51 degree (the seven pointed star configuration) coordinates for actual construction.

It is perfectly true that the seven pointed star is a bit difficult to construct but not if you have a simple protractor or a basic sense of geometry’s functions. Five points (5 pointed star) are said to represent the five senses, a man with arms, legs and a head; however, add two more points (for seven total) and the man indicates two wings to match his arms and legs with a head. An angelic evolution can be simultaneous envisioned with a human evolution, something all esotericists have been hinting at for 20,000 years.

That’s it, my Son. A great host perpetually hinting and whispering, successfully, to Paleolithic and eventually modern man; resulting in a set of primary symbols that can touch the soul as does poetry. 5 senses are cool but 7 lead to supra- dimensional awareness.

FREEDOM IS DEFINITELY FOR THE BIRDS

Love,
Arwen
P.S. what e’re a star can do to stimulate the higher mind’s got to be good for ya

(Reply from the Silver Elves to letter #20)

Thank you… Beloved Arwen,

… for the letter on the Seven-pointed Star. It was genuinely enlightening and we had not realized that the angle of the

pyramids was identical to that of the Elven Star. What a revelation.

About 15 or so years ago, Zardoa had a dream in which Princess Diana invited him to a huge mansion where she introduced him to Prince Charles who escorted him to the rooftop where a priest/wizard/druid was awaiting him. The druid told him to inscribe the inverted Elf Star in light in the air to channel the energy and power of Faerie into the material world and thus awaken it and the elves in this realm. Zardoa has been following this dream injunction periodically, when the time seems right, ever since.

As to our friend, mentor, and guide Djwal Khul we are indeed familiar with his works both through our studies with you in the Sorcery Group, our weekly studies with our old colleague “Pippin” that lasted over a decade, and our own studies earlier in our lives and incarnations when we had a long and intimate relationship with the Tibetan, at one point in a previous incarnation living with and under his tutelage from the esoteric and etheric realms of being. We, at some point, parted company with him under very friendly circumstances when we set forth to pursue and hopefully in time fulfill the mission offered to us and which we accepted. He remains in our hearts and fond memories. We still remember his rugged, lined but quite distinguished and handsome face which ever bore a quiet smile and eyes that gleamed with knowing and understanding. We remember the very day we parted company. We even apologized for leaving him, but he was silent, smiling at us as always and embracing us and patting our backs affectionately as we turned to go. Such ages ago, but it is still etched in our memories.

Then not long after that our elven kin found us wandering in the jungle that is the modern world and awakened us so our memories came flooding back and we remembered what it was

our hearts and souls had so eagerly and insistently been in search of.

Ancient Egypt, on the other hand, has never really called to us and we are certain that our paths tread elsewhere in the period. Of Babylon and Sumer do we sing, of ancient Akkadia and our Annunaki ancestors our thoughts go still, the Shining Ones, the Star Spirits, the hyper-dimensional beings that have fostered and nurtured us though space/time. But that we are cousins to the Egyptians, brother/sister of that Lodge of Initiates through the Greater Frasority that lives among the Stars, is very clear.

And now, after all this time, we are here on the very cusp of a New Age where humanity will rise or fall, either to yield to the new ones being born from them or resist unto death in an obstinate refusal to change. Either way, we will depart this life knowing we have done our best, and for those of us on this path, what more is there to say? Sometimes at night a faerie sits below and just a bit away from our window and sings in such a lovely voice, not to us specifically, but to the night and stars, and we think again of how very blessed we have been.

May starlight filter through your dreams and sing to you of Faerie.

Myths about Elfin Magic:

Myth 1: Magic Requires Belief

Many people think that magic requires belief in order to work. This is not accurate however; magic does not require belief, it only requires action, which is not to underestimate the power of belief, for belief can be quite powerful. However, magic does not depend upon it for its success.

Belief is only important to magic in so far as it convinces the individual that it will indeed work. If, for instance, we tell a primitive person that if they flip the switch on the wall the light will come on, it doesn’t matter if they believe us or not. If they flip the switch, it will come on. However, if they don’t believe that it will come on, they may not bother to flip the switch, thinking instead that we are merely joking or tricking them. So, too, magic only requires action. You need only do the magic and it will work. You do not need to believe, you need only be scientifically minded enough to test this theory and see if indeed, it is accurate in reality.

Myth 2: Technical Exactness is Necessary

Magic doesn’t function exactly like switching on a light, as some people think. While magic does require action and not belief, magic is not, as some suppose, an exact science.

Some people think that in order to do magic you must follow a formula exactly, just as you must be exact when creating a chemical composition. But magic is not so exacting. While it has its scientific aspects, it is also an art and the heart of magic requires intention, will, motivation, and spirit. Magic, like a painting, like a musical composition, depends more on individual style than technical perfection. It is more important that you put your whole heart and soul into your magic, than that you do everything exactly this or that way. Like making love, there is no perfect formula or technique that can replace sensitive and loving interaction. And believe us when we tell you, Elfin Magic is making love.

In magic … spirit, emotional power, and sincerity out weigh technical exactness every time/spell. Originality and creativity in magic, like in movies or music, is more desirable than a slick but lifeless production. On the other hand, if you can combine all these elements, enthusiasm and spirit, originality and creativity, with technical proficiency and smooth performance, you have the best of all possible combinations and the most effective of magics.

Myth 3: Magic Drains Your Life Force?

This particular misconception is especially prevalent in fantasy stories. The magician must always pay the price for having worked his magic both in the short and long run by the sapping and draining of his life energy. This is a wonderfully Christian (and we’ve heard Moslem) conception but has no real validity in elfin magic.

Magic revitalizes. It renews and energizes. If your magic is draining you, if you are sapped of your strength after your ceremonies, then you are going about it incorrectly. It is true that magic is in some ways like working out; one may feel exhausted at first, but soon their energy is replenished and they have grown stronger. But most of all, magic is like making love. One should feel exhilarated by one’s magic.

Magic is another aspect of sexual interaction. Doing your magic should be like flirting with a person you are deeply attracted to; it should turn you on, get you excited, filling you with creative juice and potency.

If you are tired at all after your magic, it should be with the fulfilled and relaxed feeling that comes after a tremendous orgasm: a healing, cleansing feeling that renews you to your very soul.

Elf Magic Mail

Elf Magic Mail: Book 1, the original letters of the Elf Queen’s Daughters with Commentary by the Silver Elves These letters…dearest kin… were written by the Elf Queen’s Daughters and contain within them the roots of the Otherkin movement. The following is the introduction of the book Elf Magic Mail that we have compiled of these original letters by the EQD and we have included a sample writing of one letter with the commentary by the Silver Elves.

From the Introduction of Elf Magic Mail:

Introduction

In 1974, a pair of sisters—Arwen and Elanor—calling thems’elves the Elf Queen’s Daughters emerged upon the Pagan/Wiccan scene. They wrote fascinating esoteric letters of elven lore and philosophy that, when they really got going, were sent out in a groups of three every week. At their height, they had over 300 addresses around the United States with a few being sent to Spain and France. Within months of their first publication, other kindred joined the sisters and established vortexes around the U.S. where those interested, who had heard the Call, could write to awakened elves. There was also a vortex in France (more on this in Book 2).

Among these vortexes was the Elves of the Southern Woodlands in Carbondale, Illinois established by Zardoa who would, some years later after the sisters ceased writing them, take on the Dharma of creating the elf letters, first in Florida under the name the Sylvan Elves and later in California as the Silver Elves. Silver Flame, his faithful sister-lover companion, soon joined him and they’ve been pursuing the Dharma ever since.

This is Book 1 of a compilation of the original letters of the Elf Queen’s Daughters. Some of these letters appeared in the earliest version of the “Green Egg Magazine”. The sisters knew many folk in the Pagan/Wiccan community including Oberon and Morning Glory Zell Ravenheart who published that magazine, as well as Z Budapest, the author of The Grandmother of Time (our friend Sumi painted the cover art for that book), and Alison Harlow who was a founding member of the Covenant of the Goddess, as well as the founder of the “Vanthi” line of Feri witchcraft, a co-founder with Gwydion Penderrwen (with whom these elves used to correspond, having been introduced by the sisters) of “Nemeton” an early pagan magazine, and a co-founder with Oberon and Morning Glory Zell-Ravenheart of the Holy Order of Mother Earth.

Then in mid 1977 the letters suddenly stopped. The sisters withdrew into seclusion and pursued their esoteric studies mostly in private. However, Zardoa stayed in touch with them and they have remained friends and accomplices ever since. Four of our books are actually a personal and magical correspondence between Zardoa and Silver Flame of the Silver Elves and Arwen and Elanor, who had founded the Elf Queen’s Daughters. This correspondence took place in 2011-2012. These books are Magic Talks, Sorcerer’s Dialogues, Discourses on High Sorcery, and Ruminations of Necromancy.

There are certain common features to most of the original letters of the Elf Magic Mail. Besides the intriguing esoteric elven philosophy, there is almost always a photo or graphic, and a glyph that is a combination of the symbols for Venus and Mars often with the Yin/Yang symbol within it; this done in hundreds of variations. There is also frequently the seven-pointed elf star that is today quite often referred to as the faerie star and adorns the covers of a number of books, including Faery Craft by Emily Carding, and is found on websites about elves and faeries all over the globe. This may be the sisters’ most enduring gift to elfin (they spelled it elfan, sometimes elfen) kind. A gift we Silver Elves passed on in our letters and which was taken up by elves and faeries all around the world.

Sample writing from “Elf Magic Mail”, pages 226-230, transcribed from original letters in 1970s:

“Title: The Primordial Egg”

“THERE ARE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF MATTERS, SISTERS …. to hold opinions about, and ten thousand more to express our attitudes about, and more and more to ponder about in the future as well as millions of lost opinions and view-points to recollect and dwell upon relating to our pasts. They weave about us, and we learn to call them ourselves. Astute politicians and the genius-executives that manipulate most of what we once held sacred wield mental power over the people of our disenchanted America that dwarfs the physical power once held by Kings and emotional power held by their courtesans.

It is foolish to believe that you’ve escaped enculturation. It is even more foolish to seriously attempt to do any thing about it. We are programmed sisters, and almost all of us can only re-program ourselves with bizarre “programming” seemingly our own, yet mostly “borrowed” from India or China or even Romantic-Western-America. It appears to the elven sisters, that it’s only the seriousness that really endangers both our security and our freedom. If we can singularly and mutually “face” the utter ridiculousness of our real predicament and almost eternal bondage to the illusions so artfully created for endless distraction, we may begin the long and perilous journey into and out-of fear.

And yet, sisters, we pass through normal and elven America and find so very much opinion about everything imaginable. The warm smiles are what counts, sisters; it is the elven smile that makes for a new day, and the elven chatter as well as the elven letters we all have grown to love are not a real part of our mutual liberation. Only a real human smile has the magic and true enchantment necessary to attack with love (in elven style) the almost ageless human preoccupation with deception. Would that people only attempted to deceive folk other than themselves.

We find sisters everywhere that would learn the magic. They find their elven natures to be more than just “surface” qualities; they feel they’ve found something recognizable in their real kinship with the elven sisterhood. We pray and call upon She Who Dreams to guide them past all of this and into and out-of what men call real. There is no substitute for self-knowledge. So very few spend the time to find out who they really are. The unseen realms of mind and reality are so very devastating to those who know so little about themselves, their motives, their sexual needs and desires, the “nitty-gritty” stuff that wizzards [sic] expose to the light of day on only one or two days in a single year. And Alchemy, and astrology, and all the “heavy “ stuff, what is it all about, beloved .. what is it all about?

Let us firstly make arrangements for our mutual evolution and growth from a disenchanted folk alienated primarily from ourselves .. into a real people who not only know themselves but know themselves relative to their real environment.
It’s the Space that Counts”

COMMENTARY BY THE SILVER ELVES on page 230:

”Here the sisters make very clear that our true elven magic is not ceremonial magic or the waving of wands, nor even attempts to manipulate the world but the magic of a simple smile, a bit of kindness in a world that very much needs it. This goes along with Tolkien’s idea, as expressed in his article On Fairy-Stories found in Tree and Leaf, that faerie magic is not the labored magic of worldly magicians. While this magic may be less demonstrative and flashy than the magic of movies and books, it is far more powerful really for all its subtlety and far more enduring. It helped change our lives and endures still in the hearts of these elves.”

The Voice of Faerie: Making Any Tarot Deck Into an Elven Oracle

September 16, 2013

We are very excited…

Dearest Kin … to have recently published our second book on tarot. Our first book, “The Elven Book of Powers” is a guide to using the tarot of magical visualization and wish fulfillment, with evocations, invocations and rhyming spells for each card in a traditional tarot deck. Our newest book, “The Voice of Faerie”, is a reference guide for reading the tarot. It is a Living Book (to be consulted over and over in time) designed to be used in concert with any tarot deck so that the meaning of the cards can be easily accessible to anyone interested in communicating with the elven and faerie spirits of other realms and dimensions.

0. Awakening: Something Magic This Way Comes, Wicked’s Had Its Way Too Long

TAROT: THE MAGICIAN

Something Magic This Way Comes

Something Magic This Way Comes is a card of blessing and good luck. An unexpected turn of affairs brings new magic into your life, refreshing and revitalizing you. Other signs will confirm this soon.
Greet this change of circumstances with optimism and enthusiasm, thus making the most of it. Something Magic This Way Comes is a confirmation of the power of the good and the beautiful to renew itself. It is a response from Faerie to the magic you have already done and that is now coming to fruition.
However, Something Magic This Way Comes also implies that we must wait for the magic to arrive. It is coming but it hasn’t come yet. It’s on its way but still we must await it with patience as well as expectation.
This card holds the promise therefore of good to come, of the triumph of good over evil, of the return of health and healing after illness, or the beginnings of understanding after estrangement and clarity in the wake of confusion.
The magic time is coming. Have faith; trust in its arrival. Know that the Dawn will disperse the darkness, that Spring will chase away winter’s chill, bringing new growth and renewal.

Visualization:

The feeling has been growing for weeks now and each day it gets stronger. Something is about to happen. Something special. Something Magic This Way Comes.
You tingle inside. Power surges through your body. You feel like you can hardly contain it and you are alive with expectancy. Something comes. Something magic. You can feel it in the wind. The trees whisper about it. The birds call to you, telling you it’s coming. “It’s coming. It’s coming,” they say.
Your power is calling you. It’s as though someone suddenly plugged you into a wall socket. The electricity streams through your body. You’re alive, alive, alive with the magic, with the power, with the possibility.

The Magic:

Stop and relax a moment. Where is the magic? Is the power building or waning? Can you feel it? Don’t try to force anything. Just feel the energy. Note where it is. Check it daily. Make yours’elf ready.

(An Alternate Interpretation)
Wicked’s Had Its Way Too Long

Wicked’s Had Its Way Too Long tells us that sooner or later the Law of Karma is fulfilled in its exacting fashion. Those that have stood against the light fall and the good prevails once again. Each receives hir (his/her) just and exact due as hir magic is fulfilled.
This is the time of struggle, however. Evil will not give up on its own volition. We must act against it with all our power bringing the weight of our Elven magic to bear, but a direct confrontation with evil is to be avoided if at all possible because we wind up entangled in conflict and destruction. We, and many innocent bystanders, are often harmed by this conflict. Direct confrontation, therefore, is a last resort. The best defense again evil is to make energetic progress toward the realization of our positive dreams and visions. By creating our eald, our bit of Faerie, in the world, by putting all our energy toward creating a better world, we undermine the power of the Wicked, which depends upon decay and dissatisfaction to gain its ends. It is parasitic by nature and
cannot endure on its own. Creating our own realm of Elfin is like turning on a light in a dark room.
By pursuing fairness and justice for all, we remove the sources of discontent upon which evil thrives and that it ever endeavors to create in order to bring imbalance to the world.
However, sometimes evil must be faced directly and so this is a card of choice. If you receive this card you must decide your best course in dealing with wickedness in this situation. Do you act toward the good, act against evil or wait for things to change on their own?

Something Magic This Way Comes and Wicked’s Had Its Way Too Long are paired, although, one follows the other. This indicates that after obtaining magical power and influence, one is then faced with a choice concerning what to do with that power. What will you do with the power you gain?

Visualization:

It has become clear to you that there are those who are deliberately seeking to enslave the world for their own profit and gratification. It is also evident to you, having the magical power that you do, that you have a responsibility to use your powers to remove these people from the positions of power from whence they carry out their wicked aims.
The question is: what’s the best way to do this? Should you use your powers to create good and ignore those others, trusting in time and karma to deal with them? Or do you think that the situation demands that you take measures to bind their evil and obstruct their path? Can you do both?

The Magic:
Hold a magic circle and do a binding. Resist wickedness in your own life and you will have the power to bind it on the nether planes.
